News of poor conditions at a holding center in Arizona for undocumented, unaccompanied minors whipped Sarah Palin into a fury Friday -- so much so that she said she was on the verge of renouncing her ties to the Republican Party.
"Finally, they have won me over. I actually agree with the liberals war whoop," the former Republican vice presidential nominee wrote on her Facebook page. "I, too, demand that this issue of young illegal aliens flooding across our border into horrendous conditions be taken care of. Now!"
The Department of Homeland Security began flying some young migrants to Arizona after more than 48,000 unaccompanied children crossing the border into Texas overwhelmed U.S. Border Patrol. A warehouse in Nogales, Ariz. was housing 700 of them at the beginning of this week and that number was expected to double to around 1,400.
In her Facebook post, Palin cited heat, illness, unsanitary conditions and potential sexual exploitation at the holding facility as examples of "child abuse." She then railed against the GOP's unwillingness to engage in meaningful reform on issues like border security.
"As a Christian I find it unforgivable to ignore this issue of overrunning border security into these conditions in southern states, and this one issue is just about driving me to renounce my Republican ties because, see, even leaders on the RIGHT side of the aisle havent exerted all Constitutional power to stop the madness," she wrote. "A few have tried, but until theyre sent reinforcements, then atrocities like the child abuse and exploitation youre now getting wind of will only get worse."
She then accused President Barack Obama of orchestrating the "crisis" in Arizona in order to advance his own immigration reform agenda.
"In this case, Obamas refusal to enforce immigration laws and his blatant suggestion that his chosen illegal activity will be rewarded are proof of his tyrannical tactics," Palin wrote. "The recent numerous manipulated 'crises' have the media pinging and ponging trying to keep up with what is the scandal of the day, which one overshadows another, and how will they distract next, and whos on first?! Purposeful decisions causing these crises are meant to overload the system, justify abuse of executive power to 'fix' it all, and ultimately tighten control of the people."
But lest anyone thought Palin was siding with Democrats who have called for giving legal status to undocumented children, she added in a post-script to her note that she would prefer to deport the children:
"The primary expenditure we need to supply in this humanitarian crisis is jet fuel to fly these children back home to their parents."
we had reform. in the 80s.
the wand was waved and all the illegals at the time were blessed into citizenship.
of course, this was done under the pretense we would build a wall.
we never did.
never trust a liberal if their lips are moving.
She goes I go with her!
Gee Sarah, that would be playing right into their hands. They want NO dissent.
We are in a situation where literally, it is mere technicality that defines it as "3rd Party." The Democrat and Republican parties are in essentials identical parties, in fundamental operation. They advance government to achieve social and economic goals, BOTH OF THEM.
The SECOND PARTY is the one that stands for cutting back government and reducing it to a bare minimum in social and economic roles, and return those freedoms to the states and their people. That's the OTHER party Americans seek, growing in numbers as disillusioned Republicans and Democrats abandon their liberal "roots." That second party demand is there, but as of yet has neither a name nor candidates.
IMO
I’ve already done that. I’m classified as Independent.
Mexico is a corrupt failed state.
These people should be treated as refugees and international sanctions should be placed on Mexico until the flood of refugees stops
And Mexico should be made to pay for the all the costs associated with this refugee situation.
Setting up an official “Party” apparatus, getting filed in all States, the legal process involved, all of these things dictate:
TAKE OVER THE REPUBLICAN PARTY with conservatives!
Everything else is a waste of time and effort and will fail.
If we do not have the numbers to dominate the Republican Party how will we ever dominate the general electorate?
How about a FREE REPUBLIC party? Members would be called FREE REPUBLICANS.
It would be ironic if one of those MANPADS Ambassador Stevens was in Benghazi to round up was used to take out Air Farce One and a bunch of planes with Congress-critters aboard.
Time for a new second Party—The Liberty Party!
Until we have a Republican candidate calling for the deportation of all illegals, we will continue to lose every major battle.
Spot On!
Adopt them into our homes. I’ll take seven!
Latin Americans just love it when we visit and steal their children.
a third-party led by Sarah Palin is just what this country needs IMO
Join the club - former Republican, now an Independent for the last 4 years. There is no difference between these two parties any longer.
And that was the point of the CFR behind the scenes....manipulating the system.
Individually, I will go it alone until sanity reurns to America, hopefully.
The Republican Party is so highly infiltrated with those who actually accept the likes of Romney -- like accepting a parakeet as an equal in a nest of eagles -- that you are standing at the wrong end of the hall, Kansas. I could be wrong, but I kinda doubt that in two measly years, the GOP "party apparatus" would do such an about face, and that is exactly what it would need to be.
Even if it did, so many stolid-though-mostly-apolitical voting Americans of average savvy understand the brand "Republican" to represent a weenie prevaricator, and they understand this with good reason. Not that all Republicans are like that, but enough of them are that you never really know, you can never trust, a Republican. Not like Democrats -- you may not like them or agree with them, but you damned well know what they stand for in terms of "conservatism," while "severe conservative" Romney stood for making Americans accept open homosexuality everywhere from their kids' schools to the military and adoption agencies, and grandfathered Obamacare! Huh???? Wha ...?
The Republican party I'm afraid is as much a liability as it is an asset. It may be salvageable as the official home of limited government conservatism, but it will need much real purging, fast, in time for 2016. OTHERWISE, we will be looking at 2012 Deja Vu All Over Again, and there will be a gaping void SCREAMING for a Second Party.
It won't care one whit about the Republican Party one way or another.
I’ll take him!
