Military Bans Bibles But Forces Soldiers to Adhere to Islamic Practices During Ramadan

It’s an Obama world.
bible
The US Air Force kicked Christian Gideon’s volunteers off base in March.
The Bibles were too offensive and violated the separation of church and state rule.

But US military personnel are expected to adhere Islamic practices during Ramadan.
Stars and Stripes reported:

U.S. personnel accustomed to drinking their coffee on the drive to work will have to put that habit on hold for about a month. It’s one of a few lifestyle changes Americans will have to make during the holy month of Ramadan.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. Officials expect Ramadan to begin at sunrise on Saturday, depending on when the new moon is sighted. The holy month lasts for approximately 30 days — until about July 28. For Muslims around the world, Ramadan is a month of fasting and devotion to God. Most Muslims fast from dawn to sunset, when families gather for Iftar — the meal that breaks the fast.

For the 8,200 U.S. personnel living here, and those serving throughout the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility — including servicemembers, civilian personnel, contractors and family members — the month may require changing some daily routines.

Businesses and government offices will reduce hours and most restaurants will be closed during daylight hours.

While not required to fast during Ramadan, in Bahrain, Americans can be fined or detained by local authorities for eating, drinking or smoking in public when off-base during daylight hours.

Navy officials are requiring U.S. personnel to dress more conservatively off-base during Ramadan. Although not a requirement by Bahraini authorities, the Navy is demanding that men wear long-sleeved shirts and women wear sleeved blouses that cover their elbows. Also, men must wear long trousers, and women should wear pants or skirts that cover the knees.

When I was young, naieve, and stupid I used to think Allah was the same god as Yahweh. Boy was I ever wrong. The fundamental teachings are diametrically opposite. The teachings of Christ are all related to love and truth. The teachings of Mohammed are related to hate and deception. The Koran / Quran Is a perversion of the bible written long afterwards borrowing history from it to give an air of truth to its contents.

Did our soldiers adhere to the third Reich neopagan crap during WWII?
Why not?

At the time, we were not permanently stationed in their country. We are guests in Bahrain. I know a lot of Sailors love being stationed there.

“When I was young, naieve, and stupid I used to think Allah was the same god as Yahweh. Boy was I ever wrong.”

They are both the same Old Testament God; the difference is the interpretations/messengers. As a Christian I have the same Old Testament God as Jews; they just have a different interpretation of what He was saying. Both Jews and Muslims feel bound by dietary restrictions from the Old Testament that Christians don’t abide by. Mohammed simply read the Old Testament centuries later and invented Islam from it.

This was true when I was flying out of PSAB in Saudi Arabia in the 90s and early 2000s. We did this while GWB was president as well. In fact, in all my tours to Saudi, I was never allowed to go off the base at all. We could bring Bibles with us, but in theory the Saudis could confiscate them from our luggage. In practice, they never did.

The military protects the Constitution. It does not practice it.

Sounds like discrimination of Christians to me while giving the Islamists a pass.

Have mercy on us, Lord.

wait... our servicemen and women are supposed practice various restrictions to follow rama-dama-ding-dong?

guess they gave up any pretense and just started pushing one religion over others

I’d disobey and tell them to bring me up on charges. force them to defend the orders in a military tribunal.

if being a soldier now means you do not live under the basc tenets of the Constitution you’re supposed to be defending, I can’t imagine why a soldier would defend it

Americans need to carry a spray can of BS repellant, that shoots a stream of hog grease about 30-50 feet.

I still have a 50 year old can of ZEP BS REPELLANT from years ago.

My dogs sleep on the doorstep to keep the evil ones away.

You might want to deep a little deeper...

The word "allah" was used for other pagan religions predating that pedophile Mohammed use of that word...

Also "Yahweh" means creator, and allah, means "the god"

Big difference in my book...

“if being a soldier now means you do not live under the basc tenets of the Constitution you’re supposed to be defending, I can’t imagine why a soldier would defend it”

Try claiming free speech after making disparaging comments about your commanding officer. Try claiming religious freedom when the military requires you to work on Sundays (or Saturdays). Try claiming you have a right to keep and bear arms in the barracks.

You won’t get far, nor should you. You give up many freedoms in the military in order to best defend the rights of others.

"A little misleading....they should state right off the bat that this applies to US personnel IN AN Islamic country."

Meanwhile, solders over here have to take part in gay pride events.

they shouldn’t force this on-base. not when they kick christianity out. seems only christians are punished and forced to adhere to another religion, and that’s’just totally fine with everyone.
