I believe that if the federal government is downsized, Virginia will go back to being Red.

Whose taking bets on the time it takes for Dems to demand power sharing on a 2 seat margin? In the interest of fairness you see...

Real Clear Politics is showing a pickup of 7 seats for the GOP in the Senate with Kansas showing as a toss up.

Here is the link to the Senate map page.

Or the one can already hear the Republicans saying, “We have only a slim majority and we don’t have the presidency. Therefore, we are happy to work with our friends across the aisle...”

dittos! Only problem is 2016 Senate races have lots more vulnerable Republican seats. 2014 had seats that Republicans can pick up...iow is tilted in our favor

So enjoy 2014 Senate wins but long term if we get Dems+ Republicans conspiring on AMNESTY we are doomed

I only have one simple message to “ALL” American voters.........”TURNOUT TO VOTE”......means everything!!! Every American registered voter, regardlesss of political slant should get out and vote today, Tuesday, November 4, 2014, and cast their vote against every single “Obamabot”, Democrat Party candidate running for office this election cycle, thus entirely destorying the “Obamabot”, Democrat Party, politically!!! That action, alone will make POTUS Obama an “INSTANT” “LAME DUCK”, POTUS for the rest of his term!!! Do it!!!

“Turnout, Turnout...and more Turnout!!!

A one vote majority allows Collins, Murkowski, McCain, Graham to swing any vote. A two seat majority allows any two of them to swing the vote. Alexander and Hatch may also waiver under the right circumstances.

If the Republicans get a one vote majority Reid may be able to persuade one of the above to switch parties particularly with the math against the GOP in 2016.

Even if no one switches, none of the above will vote for conservative social legislation or downsizing the leviathan state. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.

I was so disappointed in the last presidential. I don’t want to invest in believing all these good election predictions until they really happen. Could we be in for another disappointment like in 2012?

They should work with the Democrats the same way Reid worked with the Republicans. And I doubt many Republicans in congress will forget how business has been done the last 6 years. The voters are not demanding cooperation and Republicans are not selling it. They are demanding that the Dems be stopped and Republicans better deliver or else.

Why were you "disappointed"? Anyone could tell Romney was toast in late October up until election day. Silver of the New York Times called all fifty states correctly (not that impressive, but still should have been a tip-off).

Not sure how Larry arrived at that 2-seat majority number if the GOP picks up eight seats. A +8 gain gives them 53 vs the dems’ 47. Or are we using Common Core math?

for GOP net gain in the US Senate
(after the runoffs)

North Carolina, is the tossup

Well, excuse me, but not “everyone” has your prophetic powers, nor was obvious at the time that one should trust polls conducted by Nate Silver or anyone from the New York Times. There was a lot of talk at the time that the polls were being slanted in a liberal direction.

Unfortunately you are right and this is the problem why republicans keep on losing in the long run. But most of them are too dense to see and realize this.
