This week, I dropped the "R".

This week I went online and changed my voter registration from Republican to Unaffiliated. Didn't see the point and it felt good. Anyone else?

Well in Texas you don’t have to register with a party....
But I stopped being part of the local GOP club. I didn’t see the point....

I haven’t registerd as Repub in years and years.

Don’t need to. I vote in the primaries, but I do not register.

I’ve been looking for the Unaffiliated Party for years. Where do I send a donation?

I’ve been an Independent for over seven years, what took you so long?

I do not know about you but I do believe that all the Republicans could use some pretty firm prayers.

It depends where you live. Some states require you to register with a party in order to vote in the primaries.

But I sympathize with you.

The GOP is dead.

I dropped it for a while, but then I figured out that I couldn’t vote in the R primaries.

I won’t give up the ability to vote for tea party or conservatives (e.g. Allen West) in the primaries.

Nah, I’m too stubborn and I like to let the local RINO’s know where they are wrong. That said, if Palin or Cruz bail and create a Conservative party then I will leave.

After the last presidential election, I realized neither party was a good fit for me... hence the tagline.

I did it a year ago and the Republiboobs keep on sending me mail soliciting money.

How much money do they waste this way?

I’m keeping the “R” to speak at the caucus and vote in primaries. But not 1 dollar and I will not vote “R” down the line. If I do not know the candidates character to be solidly moral and conservative - no vote. I will not vote for the lessor of 2 evils, one is like drinking Drano (quick death) the other is like eating arsenic (slower death, neither is good for you and both will kill you.

Probably at least partially depends on whether one’s state has open primaries or closed primaries.

I did that once. I had to change back to participate in the primary. I understand the move, but it doesn’t really make a difference. The worst part is that you start getting calls from both parties. Calls from the liberals made my skin crawl.

I live in Illinois, where we don’t register by party. Within the past 14.5 years, I voted for 10 Libertarians and five Constitution Party candidates.
