Today I was shown a piece of literature from the Cruz for President campaign that misrepresents the role of my office, and worse, misrepresents Iowa election law. Accusing citizens of Iowa of a "voting violation" based on Iowa Caucus participation, or lack thereof, is false representation of an official act. There is no such thing as an election violation related to frequency of voting. Any insinuation or statement to the contrary is wrong and I believe it is not in keeping in the spirit of the Iowa Caucuses.
Additionally, the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office never "grades" voters. Nor does the Secretary of State maintain records related to Iowa Caucus participation. Caucuses are organized and directed by the state political parties, not the Secretary of State, nor local elections officials. Also, the Iowa Secretary of State does not "distribute" voter records. What is the context here? What did Cruz do?
I hear a death rattle.
Why would Cruz do this, unless he thought he couldn’t win without it?
Why would Cruz listen to bad advice to send this?
If he’s so upright, why would he do anything to win.
Speaking as an undecided voter, I say the Sec State can shove it.
If Cruz is trying to get Republicans to vote for him, what is the problem? He isn’t pointing a gun at them and he isn’t paying them—these are things DEMOCRATS do.
So sick of this kind of crap. Let the man campaign.

This mailer has been used in the past, without such condemnation by the Iowa Secretary of State. Check out who Mr. Paul D. Pate is supporting, and you’ll likely find Rubio, imho.

Intimidation is raising it’s rank on the *list of desperate tactics” of the Ted Cruz Campaign.
Political intimidation is generally frowned upon, not a part of the “Best Practices” manual.
The idea may have been lame and gratuitously preachy. It sounds just like something Cruz would come up with.
But for the SoS to blow a gasket over it as though it was anything other than metaphorical, also shows a high lameness quotient.
I would grant the SoS that in today’s low information age, it could be misunderstood. Sad that it can, but yes it can.

Cruz is not stupid. Has he answered this charge? I keep thinking this is a dirty trick by Rubio or Right to Rise. Cruz couldn’t possibly be this stupid. Could he?
