Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels has seemingly admitted the show chose not to roast Harvey Weinstein because the embattled film heavyweight is from New York.
When Michaels was asked as he was leaving SNL's after-party at 4am why the show avoided the Weinstein controversy, the producer smiled and responded: 'It's a New York thing.'
The show had earlier been criticized for not mentioning the sexual harassment allegations leveled against Weinstein this week.

Typical Democrat view of Republicans (Trump, Bush, Reagan, Ford, etc.) -- "Hey! Hey! I've got a joke! Great joke! You want to hear it? It's fantastic! Are you ready? Are you ready for my great joke? Here it is: 'Republicans are stupid' HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Typical Democrat view of Democrats (Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Harvey Weinstein, etc.) ---" Ummmmmmmm. I got nothing. I mean, these are serious people. There's no comedy material there. They are just great, great people."

I would deplore conservatives to boycott SNL, but I suspect that has been the case for quite some time. How does SNL get punished (rightfully!) for giving Weinstein (and Hillary ...) a pass?

And this.... actress Rose McGowan has been ***rumored*** for a long time to have had {{{something quite horrible}}} happen from Harvey Weinstein in a hotel room during the Sundance Film Festival, and she seems to be working up to such an accusation online.... it was quite a few years ago but I don't know the exact year. In the mid-late '90s she was big in "independent" films so it was roughly around then.
Below is what she just tweeted TODAY (around 6 hours ago), referring to her 20-something yr old self as
"hurt by a monster" -- yes she most definitely appears to be referring to Harvey Weinstein as that monster! She has been calling upon "ladies of Hollywood" to speak out against Harvey Weinstein.

"Saturday Night Pravda"
I translated it for you: Субботняя Ночная Правда
All of these Hollywood liberal women kept quiet so they wouldn't be blackballed. How many innocent 'nobodies' were raped and destroyed thanks to those horrible enablers. I look forward to watching Trump, James Woods, Pat Sajak, Rob Schneider, etc. remind them repeatedly.

I know, I know, but it’s her phrase not mine. I suppose she is trying to appeal to “the better angels of our nature” (in Lincoln’s memorable phrase). So far she is not getting much response, few of the “major” Hollywood figures, female or male, have weighed in thus far. I assume most of them are waiting and watching, wondering if they can get away with silence or if they ought to say something.

And what will be the next opening monologue on SNL? Probably A-hole Baldwin doing another over-the-top smear of the POTUS. Thanks dynachrome.

Hat tip Gaijin, there's already an article out that pushes the story further. I had not seen this but had heard things from other directions....
Was Rose McGowan Trying to Warn People About Harvey Weinstein? The actress posted damning tweets back in 2016, alluding to an unnamed studio head who allegedly raped her.
"In 2016, Rose McGowan made waves when she alleged that a studio head had raped her. Using the hashtag #WhyWomenDontReport, she said she never reported the alleged crime because she was told that she could never win such a case: A (female) criminal attorney said because Id done a sex scene in a film I would never win against the studio head, she wrote. McGowan added that her ex-partner sold the film she was working on to her alleged rapists company, and that the mans behavior was an open secret in Hollywood/Media. They shamed me while adulating my rapist, she wrote."

They gave Obama a pass for years, so this is no surprise.
Lorne Michaels is a wannabe mogul, sort of like a little brother mogul to Hollywood's big brother moguls.
He identifies with them and isn't going to make fun of them. Yes, it's a liberal Democrat thing, but there's a personal element involved here as well.
