Breaking—Free Republic Actually Works

It seems the performance issue has been resolved. Mumble mumble Apache2 was configured with MPM event causing mod_perl to segfault, changed to prefork mumble mumble and now it works.

Now that the show-stopping issue is solved, next is mail (for flesh blood/registration) and the whack line noise especially in replies. Later is mumble mumble UTF8 encoding issue, double encoding probably mumble mumble.

Was the sudden change in the San Jose company’s policy in any way politically motivated, i.e., was there any attempt to harm Free Republic with the sudden moving up of the deadline, or can anyone say? I was reading elsewhere that another U.S. conservative blog was told they had to vacate their wordpress platform for some vague failure to meet that organization’s standards. Could be an early phase of what’s coming if Harris and Biden are sworn in (is Biden still at the top of the ticket, I am just using the actual ranking there).
