LeVar Burton got a glimpse into his lineage in “Finding Your Roots” and discovered something about his ancestors that shocked him.
The former “Reading Rainbow” host, freedom-to-read advocate and actor knew little about his lineage. He’d been estranged from his father, Levardis Robert Martyn Burton, since he was 11, and his mother, Erma Gene Christian, had been tight-lipped about her own history. Burton said it was “impossible” to get her to open-up about her upbringing.

Levar, they could do the same type of taking alens to you from their timeframe and be extremely critical of you for what was considered immoral and improper and not done in polite society as well.
Do not think someone else won’t hyper critically evaluate your life Levar and find it quite wanting by whatever standards of the day are in place, then.

My relatives fought for the Union... A great great granduncle from Massachusetts who lost a hand and eye, and a couple of cousins from Pennsylvania who died... One at Gettysburg... When do I get my reparations?
Pedigree research yields some interesting and sometimes distressing discoveries.
I am descended from three Great-Great Gramdfathers who served the Union during the Civil War. No Confederates.
I am descended from several ancestors who served in the militia (some as Officers) during the Revolution but also from one who conspired to destroy colonial’s munition supplies under the promise of high commissions in the British army.
And even farther back...one of millions of descendants of the infamous King MacBeth of Scotland.
Here’s hoping.
