The link posted above is to a poll being taken in San Fran about Congresswoman Lee...Freepers have been working on this...make sure you give it a visit!
Eagles Up!
The fact is even Saddam Hussein didn't use chem weapons on us just because of the threat made by George H.W. Bush that we would nuke him, in case you didn't figure it out Saddam belived him. What else stopped him? Saddam used chem weapons on Iranians and disident Iraqis, we have nukes and he belived that we would use them.
Next time before you start assuming that everyone you see mentioning nukes is dumber than you, maybe you should think through the entire process and realize that they can be just as effective as a threat and don't really need to be launched. Now go play with your critters Ellie May.
In the Gulf War it appeared that that faith wasn't all that strong. AII is writing as though every Muslim was analogous to Jim Bakker or Jerry Falwell. In reality, it didn't take much to push them to surrender. Great wealth often spoils people of all spiritual stripes.
Bush is smarter than this.
Whomever questioned the wisdom of the expression, "hold your friends close but hold your enemies closer", should now have their answer.
Who will heed the wisdom?
But the RED Chinese are our friends....../sarcasm
Bump for you Jeff, Joanie and bb.
Indeed, knowing your enemy, especially now, is going to be a critical element in how well we do in this war.
JH, for your ping list.
for your ping list.
The question there and in China will be can we use this conflict to better ourselves. I do not know the answer to that but I predict we will eventually find out.
Stay well - Stay safe - stay armed - Yorktown
What's the rush, anyway? Let's don't be in such a hurry that we get a lot of our people killed, disrupt our own continental security and open ourselves up to an invasion while rushing out to show that we're still bigger and meaner than anyone else. That's a pretty good prescription for falling on our faces.
No matter how smart Bush is, he's still surrounded by Clinton era nincompoops in both the military and the cabinet. There are plenty in Congress who definitely can't be trusted, also. If this had been a military attack from an identifiable nation, a swift retaliatory strike would be the correct response.
The response to something like this has to be well calculated to be effective.
Often words emanating from these Islamic radicals seem no more than empty, treatening rhetoric, but it seems that bin laden is quite earnest and does not make idle threats...bin laden is a rather shrewd character in a region that is well populated with shrewd types, and it makes for an odd proposition- he can and cannot be trusted.
And your remark about following the money is right on the mark also, for we know that the terror network did not recruit solely from Afganistan, but mainly fom those countries that we label as moderate, and I take this as a obvious and ominous warning flag. We must try to rethink our mindset and realize this is not a war against a country with firm borders, but a war against a particular culture.
As I said earlier, he is a shrewd operator, and has scored a coup against America, and he must have thought through about what comes next, and I tend to think we are being played, and I hope that our leaders realize this and start acting unpredictably and change the rules.
Being a student of history and having read a few books on the Afgan wars, there probably is not a better region in this world for defenders to spring a trap.
Excellent article! Should be bumped to many. There is an important principle in Deut. 28 that blessings are associated directly with obedience to the Lord and cursings with disobedience. There may be a whole lot of praying going on for America, but without repentance, the way ahead is going to be fraught with many traps. Sin separates man from God so God will not hear. If people want to hear Him and to be heard, they MUST repent. The concept of "saved by grace" has been overblown out of proportion.
Pr 14:34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
