It's Compliment Weekend at FR!

Given the carping and nasty nature of FR as of late, I thought it might be a good time to see the more civil and gracious side of participants. Here is a thread for just that purpose – to edify, encourage, and thank.

Ever wanted to thank that unsung FR hero? Agree or disagree, why not tell JohnHuang2 or Registered how much you appreciate their skills. And can you imagine the many hours Alamo-Girl puts into her work? Perhaps you appreciate how well the folks over at Word For The Day wield their words. Or maybe you just want to tell WIMom and her gang that you’re sorry for all your unkind words about the recent Freepathon ads, and thank her for all her hard work on that. Maybe you are an FR Radio fan. Well, you get the idea.

What this thread is NOT for: complaints against the management, flaming those you disagree with, bashing the current administration, leaving your opus, whinning about someone being banned, criticizing FR spelling, grammar, or sentence structure, calling out newbies (unless they are disrupting this thread, of course), shilling for your candidacy, carping about a particular regular thread. Well, you get the idea.

Freep on…..

P.S. No, I’m not fishing for compliments. I’ve already been called every name in the book here on FR, and “toothless hag” is still my personal favorite.

And, by the way, thank you again, Turkey, for standing with the sane ones in the war against terrorism. a_Turk - your posts give me great hope. Glad you are here.

Thank you so much for your kind compliment. I, in turn, am greatly impressed by your activism, and your courage to put sound principle and belief into practice.

Well actually the three year old grand daughter now knows that she is pretty. She had a scratch under her eye and didn't want her parents to put medicine on it.

My son told her that she would have a scar if they didn't us the medicine. She put it on her self three times a day after that.

Her brother is going to be a blond blue eyed hunk, and he could care less what he wears. His sister has been pushing away clothes in stores that she didn't like since she was about 10 months old. When we buy clothes for her we take her and pick out 4-6 items and show them to her. If she doesn't like them, she pushes them away. If she likes them she holds on them. Seldom do we buy any clothes for her if she is not there. Her Dad doesn't stand a chance.

Thanks for your kind words, and coming from you they mean a lot to me.

You do not need compliments from the likes of me to understand what contributions you have made around here. You actual DO things. That is a rare commodity now days.

Doing things is one of those DNA things that was passed down to me, and my wife got similiar DNA passed on to her.

Our sons do things and make things happen. We see that this genetic Do things has been passed on to our grand kids. They had rather play or do things on their own than watch tv. Many of their peers watch tv hours each day, (bad habit at age 15 months to 3 years).

One of my favorite things is when they are watching tv is to ask them if they want to go outside to play or take a walk. Or if they want me or Grand Ma to read to them. The oldest one turns of the TV immediately, and they are ready to do things!

Thanks again.

We kid her Dad all the time. He knows that he is in for it.

What is interesting about her clothes, at age 3, she is very much like my wife. She would rather have a few nice things than a whole lot of just things to wear. She is actually picking out what she wants to wear and is doing a good job.

She was so funny with the neosporine cream and her scratch mark. She wanted to know if we had this no scar cream at our house. We said yes. She said thank you.

My kids HAD to "do" stuff. I wouldn't let them watch TV all the time, and they were much better off. My GS, on the other hand, spends FAR too much time watching the TV, playing video games, etc. Grrrrrrrrrr

Thanks again!

Floriduh and California have a lot of weird liberals mixed in with good conservatives. The good weather and oceans attract all sorts of people.

You are one of my favorites.

Thanks for alerting us 13 months ago about what the enviral nazis were trying to do to our brothers and sisters in the Klamath Basin.

Then you kept us up todate on the enviral Nazis newest tricks.

That was the first defeat the Enviral Nazis have had in their rural cleansing the past 2 decades.

I am very glad to have worked with you and gotten to know you on that vital issue.

I believe that the sanity we get and find on Free Republic from other conservatives is the greatest personal gift we get from Free Republic.

We have some many enviral whackos and other vile liberals in both Oregon and California, it is mental therapy to come to Free Republic to find other conservatives.
