The WOT just got bigger and better and it will be happening only in America.

You wish ;). It got bigger and better, and the "better" will show when the UN gets soundly flogged, sliced, diced and sent back to the turd world ;).

If they're not allies, they can be seen as what they are: enemies. Good thing.

100% agreed, re Kofi.

I could NOT believe that Kofi gave the speech he did....RIGHT before GW's speech last Thursday.

Kofi's bleeding heart, third world, "let me spend the USA's money", 'rule the world', 'we will fine you to take MORE of your money", "you must follow international law--not YOUR laws", skinny ass needs to get the hell out of OUR country!

Relax folks. This is just one more chess move for Saddam. He is buying time until the inspectors get close again, and then he will figure a way to banish them from inspecting anymore. He's delaying the inevitable though, this time. He's not dealing with Bill. W's smarter than Saddam, and he knows his past history. Nobody is really going to believe Iraq is sincere. I'm sure Bush will make it clear in his next speech that he's not convinced and that Iraq's actions will speak louder than their words.

Now Sadaam will a)delay, b)move what he has built, c)stall JUST ENOUGh to move what he has built. Will the administration go ahead ASAP or fall into this trap? Has it been outmanuevered? I can't believe Rumsfield would fall for it...but I KNEW Sadaam would sudden accept without any conditions. Of course, the tiny, stalling conditions are going to start very soon. UN does not appear to be an option for support for US efforts (understatement).

Good points - we were demanding disarmament - not inspections.

I think this is a stalling tactic because they are almost done making weapons of mass destruction.

Very interesting, although utterly predictable. Now Bush has the option to declare victory, keep quiet, not say a word about Prague, or funny white powders in threatening letters, and *maybe* the whole thing will just go away. Or, he can risk a confrontation that may cost millions of American lives.

Your move, Mr. President.

The UN is not effective, as seen by this statement by Annan. They are willing to take WORDS so that they can go back to their dinner parties. According to TBLSHOW's comments from CNN, the White House is "dismissive." This means that the administration anticipated this.

I expect the Rats will grab this as a way to delay a vote, and the President can then position the Rats as not caring about American security, and rather willingly letting an ineffectual bureacracy call the shots.

The game is afoot, and my bet is on the poker player from Midland.

Must have hidden his stockpile then...

He has had 4 years to hide it, and I highly doubt we'll be able to find it ....even with the help of the most sophisticated satellite equipment. We've been set up to look like complete fools, and that traitor Ritter will be able to say "I told you so." Meanwhile, this move by Saddam will buy him the time he needs to complete his nukes. I'm thoroughly disgusted.

One problem I see is that ths gives the Democrats an excuse to drag their feet on debating a war authorization

Very true. An early invasion does not help them politically. They would prefer to approve this after the November elections.

BTW, I consider all Democratic complaints to be politically motivated by the midterm elections. I think they want to go in as much the next guy. They are not stupid or ill-intentioned; they know Saddam has to go. They just don't like the timing on this.

This sounds very familiar, saddam has used this tactic before. It's the old bait, and switch game, and delay, delay, and confuse the enemy. Exactly the same technics the democrats are using against the Republicans. Do you suppose hillary, transfered this MO to the iraqis? I wonder what the witch got for consultant fees from saddam.
