Two Area Rallies to Show Support for Troops (Ft. Collins and Loveland)
Radio station K99 Salutes the Troops rallies will be held in Fort Collins and Loveland on Saturday March 1, 2003.
The Loveland rally will be held 9-10 a.m. at Dwayne Webster Veterans Park. The park is on US-34 just South of Lake Loveland
The Fort Collins rally will be 11 a.m. -noon at Eldora Park, 1420 E. Stuart St.
Attendees will receive American flag bumper stickers, hear patriotic music and may sign a banner that will be sent to our troops.

It was a yoyo day for me, Loveland to Greeley and back to Loveland. A local country radio station, K99 was having two support for our troops rallies. The first one was in Loveland from 9-10 a.m. and the second in Ft. Collins at 11:00 a.m.. I arrived at the Loveland rally an hour early and took up a position next to the cannon with my trusty sign and flag. It is on a hill overlooking US-34. As people arrived they joined me and the fun began. Shortly after, FReeper BulletBobCo showed up and the FReep was on. Weldgophardline and his family showed up followed by CardCarryingMember.VastRightWC and MollynMe.
I got to use my bullhorn and gave the crowd the ole Blessed are the Peace Makers! The United States Army, The United States Air Force, The United States Navy, The United States Coast Guard aaannnndd the The United States Marine Corps! The crowd went into a cheer. I then informed them of the four FReeps and told them they were more than welcome to join us.
I passed out some of dware's flyers to the crowd.
FReeping leftists is fun, but there sure is something special about rallying friendly folks.
After the rally we headed over to Greeley which is about a half hour drive to the East. We were welcomed by Trteamer and RandallFlag who were stationed on the NE corner of US-34 and 35th Avenue. I joined them. The Weldgophardline family were occupying the SW corner. This is the corner the lefties have been claiming in the past. We were early, they were late. Ya snooze, ya lose! MollynMe and CardCarryingMember.VastRightWC joined them.
The parking on that corner is about two hundred yards away across a field. After a while we could see the lefties walking toward the FReepers on the SW corner. They must have thought they had comrades on their corner. They were surprized to find that they were in an occupied zone. The moved to the opposite corners.
The wind was paralizing. Everyone was securing their signs to keep them from blowing away. My sign was stapled to my frame and a gust of wind came by and ripped my sign away from the frame and sent it flying down the road. Luckily I had my 'Give Our Troops a Honk' sign under it. A short time later one of Trteamer's signs blew across the street and they retrieved it and were puzzled by its message.
There were a lot of them pesky lefties, but we definately had the honks coming our way.
Oh, the yoyo thing. I went back to Loveland to replace my sign. It was like a sign shop pit stop. I threw together a sign in a rush and headed out to the Loveland FReep. I wanted to get there a little early since I invited the people to join me in the morning. I was there for a while and a couple joined me from the earlier rally. They brought along a couple of small flags and had a delightful time waving their flags at all of the honking cars. They plan on returning.
Another person from the morning came to help FReep, but he wound up on the other side trying to reason with them. It would not have been so bad, but he had an American flag attached to a long pole. It was one of the few times that a flag had graced their corner. He finally came over to the right side. We were also joined by RandallFlagg and Freedomfighter1.
The wind was not as bad as Greeley (nothing new), but the temerature dropped steadily and it started to snow. Then an event happened upon us and warmed us so that we could have gone a few more hours. A young woman stopped by with a two year old. She was crying tears of joy that we were there supporting our troops. She was an EMT in Greeley and I think she lives in Loveland. We told her that were there every week and she said that she would join us next week. It was goosebumpily to watch as her tears nearly froze as theyt ran down her cheeks.
Here are some photos.

I managed to get this picture of the SW corner as I was leaving.

This is what we faced in Loveland.

Here is a shot of the good guys. That is Jack in te front and Freedomfighter1 behind him. RandallFlagg is hanging on to my sign which is a little different than it was this morning. Behind RF is the man from the eariler rally that joined us. Shortly after this picture was taken it began to snow.

Just in case you're interested in how cold it was, this is a some chain covered in ice. Stay warm out there.
Here is a shot of them trying to hold down their sheet sign in the high winds in Greeley.

Fivetoes trying his best to hold down the sign, or was he trying to hang onto the sign to keep himself from blowing away.
A special thanks to our troops from GReeley Colorado!! Today FReepers fivetoes,Randall Flagg,Molynme,CardCarryingMemberVastRightWC,the entire family of weldgophardline, and I held our own in a horrid cold wind. I froze, but the response from the citizens to our efforts still warms my heart.
The leftists of GReeley consist of brainwashed college students and a few old leftist grandpa types dragging along their small grandchildren (I feel sorry for the little kids). They are not as organized or as experienced at this sort of thing as us FReepers and it shows. The wind was blowing hard and cold and our signs took a beating but held up. Old Glory really likes a stiff wind and looked spectacular! Yes, we gave the peace-niks a hard time. They asked for it.
Randall Flagg brought along his trusty bullhhorn and we took turns making comments to the leftists. I just love to get on the bullhorn and yell "Good Morning Leftists! I support George Bush!" and "Good Morning Leftists! God Bless Our Troops!". The funniest moment today was when Randall Flagg did a little bullhorn poll of the citizens stopped at the light. When he asked how many people voted for George Bush there was honking and cheering. When he asked how many people voted for Al Gore there was total silence except for a guy in a car yelling "Well I guess that answers that!!" LOL!!
I did a head count and it was about 10 FReepers to 23 leftists. Boy did we outnumber them and outclass them. You all know one FReeper is worth a hundred leftists! Our little band of battle hardened FReepers is a real handfull. They didn't stand a chance.
As fivetoes hinted in his report I did indeed get into a verbal exchange with two female leftists. Here is the story:
The wind grabbed one of my signs off the ground and sent it directly across the street to the leftists. This was one they had never seen and really upset them. It read "Leftists!! The BLOOD of Saddam's victims is on YOUR hands! (complete with bloody hand prints). The leftists all looked at it and were pissed. Just about that time fivetoes and Randall Flagg had to leave for Loveland and I held my corner by myself. Well here came two college girl leftists across the street bringing my sign back to me ( they shouldn't have done that, I will use that sign again on them). They came over to argue.
As they say , it's hard to have a battle of wits with an unarmed leftist. As we got into it, I looked over to see fivetoes stopped at the light with camera in hand and I started laughing. They didn't think it was too funny. These two girls were totally brainwashed by their leftist professors and it showed. They spouted all the B.S. they have been taught and I handed it right back to them in non politically correct terms. When I told them they must have flunked history class they informed me they were both majoring in history at the university. I pounced on that. I asked them "Who was Neville Chamberlin? and what did he do in WWII?", total silence. When they started talking about the glory of the United Nations I asked "Who is the head of the U.N. human rights commission?", total silence. When I asked them exactly what they would do about Iraq they told me they would have our special forces go in and capture Saddam instead of bombing the children. You cannot reason with brainwashed idiots.
When they informed me they were members of the Green Party, I pounced on that one too. I said to them "How about this one: Let's Drill A.N.W.R.!!" (I might as well have kicked their puppy)LOL!! That really got them going. I informed them there was 9 to 16 Billion barrels of oil in A.N.W.R., enough for 30 years of oil independence so our country can research alternative fuels. In addition I informed them that the infrastructure is already in place in Prudoe Bay and our oil companies are experts at minimizing environmental damage. THEY LEFT.
I stayed on the corner until all the leftists were gone. The people of GReeley Colorado send their THANKS to all our troops out there. Your have support!! The honking proved that. All the Best,
Here are some pics by Deb, weldgophardline's wife.

Fivetoes was only reaching for his camera. Honest!

Them in Longmont.

The good folks in Longmont.

A circle of them in Longmont to end the festivities for the day.
Randall Flagg went to one of the dark corners and read letters and came back later stating it was getting too heated and stinky over there. We could hear some of what he was saying between the numbers the band was playing. It was cold but not as cold and windy as what I heard Greeley was today. Card Carrying said one of his signs was blown to pieces.
After the rally, we went by a restaurant for a bite and before I knew it, it was 2:20. So when we drove by the rally in Longmont, it was just wrapping up at 3:00. We honked and waived to the Longmont Freepers but we were on the other side of the road so I don't know if you guys saw or heard us. Oh, and before we made it to the Ft. Collins rally, we stopped by the radio station deal at Edora Park. We signed the banner and grabbed a few stickers and then left. There were a few people there but it didn't look like too much was going on at the point we arrived. All and all it was a fun time and worth the trip from Aurora to Ft. Collins. I'll try to make the Longmont one next weekend.
Bump.
Report of the rally for America's Troops in Norhtern Colorado (Four Rallies)
Aw, MAN! We had such a great time today! I started off early, driving first to the rally in Greeley. I saw Trteamer all by himself at the NE corner, so I grabbed my bullhorn to join him. The wind was fierce! He told me that he'd already lost his, "BOMB SADDAM" sign when it blew across the street. There was another group of Patriots covering the opposite corner, fighting the winds as well. When the antibushers showed up, I laid into them with letters from our troops overseas. As usual, they simply stood there with idiot looks on their faces. Fivetoes showed up about 15 minutes after I did and stood with us. I was going to begin a little polling to the peaceniks by asking who they voted for, begining with President Bush and working my way to Clinton, then demand that they get rid of all the "No War" signs and be honest: they aren't anti-war, they're anti-Bush. It didn't turn out that way. I only got as far as, "Here's a poll for you all: How many of you voted for President George W. Bush?" But before I was able to continue, there was an immence blaring of car horns all around us. Since I didn't expect that kind of reaction (I was only expecting responses from peaceniks, who either were too stoned to reply or didn't speak English), I decided to just ask, "Ok, who voted got Al Gore?" Utter silence.. There was one peacenik, however, that decided to try and engage in a debate with me, although Trteamer discouraged it (Sorry, Trteamer, but I was aching to get my share of leftist flesh today, after what I heard was going on with the kids of our military being put through at their schools by their liberaloser teachers). The guy didn't even know who Ramsey Clarke was. If I had about three hours, I'm sure I could have opened his eyes to what the anti-war rallies were really about. But, I had bigger fish to fry, so I said my farewells to my Patriotic Pals and headed North to Fort Collins.
Walking to join Trteamer

Proud Patriots Braving The Winds

Ahhhhh! Fort Collins Freepin' Time!!!

I love the smell of Patriots in the morning!

We really had a great turnout.

Ok, this is where it gets ugly.. Below, you'll see a picture of one of the good guys holding down the SE corner. Since I had a letter that gave thanks to our folks, I figured that I should stand with him to be able to address all the groups. I crossed the street and introduced myself and began reading the letters from our military members overseas. When I finished -it seemed that I attracted some attention- a radio reporter came up to me and stated that his battery on his audio recorder was dying, but he'd like me to read my sign to him and make a quick statement. I did and he left. Afterwords, I looked behind us and saw an antibusher holding the familiar red-and-blue "No Iraq War" sign. We stated that the police have told both groups to stay on their respective corners to avoid conflicts. He told us, "This is my house. I can stand here if I want!" It was at this point that three more of them were converging on us. Since I was still ready to take them all on, I engaged them. Things were getting pretty heated; they said things glorifying the UN and I told them that if it wasn't for the UN, we'd not be in the conflict with Iraq right now, yadda-yadda-yadda...You know the rest. But the bad part was this: I have been calling these folks "Smelly" for quite some time. I'll admit that I used to simply do it because I thought it was a stereotype. I was wrong and I realized it during my engagement with them. Even with semi-strong winds at the FReep in Fort Collins, I could smell something akin to rotting flesh and stale Fritos. I really couldn't take it anymore and simply had to re-join our Patriots. Next time, I'm bringing a couple of cans of Lysol!

What I saw while addressing The Antibushers

There's a story behind this picture as well. After leaving Ft. Collins, I went to Loveland to re-join Fivetoes in support of our fine fighting forces. I knew I couldn't stay too long, so I pulled into the parking lot, strapped on my bullhorn and marched up behind them and started out with, "Blessed are the peacemakers! United States Army, United States Navy-----" Fivetoes and the others began holloring, "No! NO!! We can't do that here!" I didn't know it was against the law, so I ceased and simply stood holding my sign. From behind, a very young lady (About 19-23 years old) walked up to us with a 2-year-old boy om her hip. Tears were streaming from her eyes as she told us, "Thank you! Thank you! I just love what you're doing! Thank you all so very much!" Well, folks, this simply broke my heart. I just wanted to hug both her and her little child and tell them that all was going to be alright. It was so painfully obvious that she was so torn up inside by the actions of the liberal media, the bushbashers and the Hollywood idiots, that she saw us while driving by and just broke down crying. I guess that she thought that she was all alone in her opinions. Well, she was simply misinformed. If she's here reading this right now (I told her about this site), I just want her to know that we all will be here to support her in these painfull times. Take care, Ma'am. You are absolutely not alone. Sign on to this site and if you just want to talk with someone, we'll be here.

I'm glad we were upwind from these....

Fourth And Final FReep for the day...In Longmont!

Bushbashers over yonder...Yuck!

Yet another story behind a pic. Do ya see these two? Well, they're from the other side, trying to get us to see their point of view. I explained what a monster Saddam was -"We aren't any better, we kill people too." I explained why we must disarm him -"We shouldn't be the masters of other nations." I asked if either of them had ever been to another country -"Yeah. Sweeden." SHEESH! Like talking to a coupla brick walls! So, I gave up. As they left (hah! I made a funny! "Left?!" HAH!), our group began making the bleeting sounds of sheep as they crossed the street. Very appropriate!
The fine young man facing the camera on the left holding the two signs will be enlisting in The United States Marine Corps! He'll be going to Boot Camp within about 2 weeks. I say "Hoo-Rah!" Yet another outstanding addition to our heros!

Does the act of holding a sign that says, "No War For Oil" while standing by a gas station violate something?

Well, that's it. I won't be joining you folks for a few weeks because of work. Hopefully, I'll have some new, fresh, bigger signs made up by then.
God Bless Our Military!
Debbie I love that red white & blue knit covering for your pup. Looks great! And he certainly needed some extra wind protection today, as did we all. (Did you remember to stitch www.freerepublic.com onto it somewhere? Ha!)
I really feel sorry for those young brainwashed students across the street in Greeley. I recognized some of them from the forum we participated in at UNC the Wednesday before last. The guy who wore the mask that mocks Dubya was one who stood in line supposedly to ask our panel a question, but instead just launched into a tirade about the USA being the real terrorists because during the Cold War a generation ago we helped a lot of Latin American countries fight back against USSR- and Cuban- funded Communist insurgents by training numbers of their soldiers in counter-insurgency tactics at the School Of The Americas and later some soldiers from one of the many countries participating in this program killed some nuns. So this decades-old murder is spun thusly --- America has the blood of nuns on its hands, so therefore WE are the terrorists and thus have no right to defend ourselves against terrorist actions such as 9/11. And this is only one typical example of the kind of lunatic-fringe-logic we heard that night. Another angry student lectured us about supposedly huge numbers of children (in the 6-figures as I recall) starving to death in Americas inner cities every year (!!!) and this he defined as Americas own terrorism once again defining us all as hypocrites to oppose terrorism elsewhere. And a coed on the opposing panel told us all how the USs liberation of Afghanistan and proposed liberation of Iraq should be defined as terrorism. Its just astounding to see the incredible lack of rational thought processes on campus, to see the amount of successful brainwashing that the burned-out 60s leftist profs have performed on their young charges, even in a city as conservative as Greeley. Depressing!
But anyway you guys if someone comes over and starts to argue, send them to me!! I just LOVE to argue with these people. Whats really fun about it is the fact that we can bring up lots of little inconvenient facts that theyve never heard of. And even if its impossible to change someones mind in one day, we can at least plant a lot of doubt and make them start questioning at least a few of the lies theyve been force-fed. Also I think a lot of them look across the street at us and are totally confused. Theyve only ever heard one side from their high school teachers and college profs. Theyve never listened to Rush (or any other talk radio show) because theyve heard that hes a loonie, so why bother to listen. So they look at us and wonder about us and imagine the worst kind of stuff. When they come over to lecture us, they fully expect the result to be either, A) Theyll open our minds to the glorious truth by using all these astounding factoids that we the unwashed masses have never heard before, or B) That theyll discover were evil or morons or both, and therefore their goal of educating us is hopeless. So the very LAST thing they expect is to discover that not only have we already heard every single eye-opening factoid that they lay on us, but also that we know all the REAL facts that shoot down every one of their killer arguments in flames. So at the very least they now go away with an uncomfortable suspicion deep inside that, hey, these guys seem to know what theyre talking about!
But anyway, I am REALLY going to miss you all the next 2 weekends. Were doing our traditional family camping trip in SE Utahs canyon country for Spring Break, so we'll be on the road both Saturdays. Ill eagerly await your reports when I get back. Bye!
(PS: Need to start up a separate discussion thread on how to build wind-proof signs! LOL!)
Hey, save some for me! Just let me bring my noseplugs.

Perhaps if they get their way then gas prices will jump so that no one can afford to drive and everything that requires petroleum to produce will go up too. They will have to resort to making signs from a piece of cardboard and a hunk of coal because the cost of markers will sky-rocket too.
