A Few of FR's Finest.....
......Every Day

FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.

Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001

So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.

Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!

And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

We now have eleven groups of veterans/active military; we will post each group of three or four twice a week, with thumbnail/links of the remaining seven or eight groups on each thread. Click on any of the thumbnails below to see the group full-size.

To Our FReeper FRiends: We hope you've been having as much fun as we have with our spotlight on various FReepers. We thought we'd kick back on the weekends and simply review those who've been featured during the week. If you missed seeing them and want to say hello to them now, feel free to click on the link to that particular thread. If you'd like to drop in and out of this thread today and tomorrow, please feel free to do that also. One of us will always be around to see the welcome mat is still out, and maybe even put fresh flowers on the table. :)

CLINTON SUFFERS FROM JEALOUSY OBSESSION

Sure thing. Clinton couldn’t make it in foreign policy, among other things, not withstanding his “successes” in the thong department. And so he goes after the United States President George W. Bush like a vulture going after fresh flesh on Interstate 95.

Clinton has always been known for being restless. Even when in office, he got blocked in by the confines of the Oval Office; so he’d hit the streets. Surrounded by security, of course. Nevertheless, that never deterred Bill in his jogging pants. It made it all the more alluring for photo ops.

Clinton loved to press the flesh. He would smile broadly, give out that ready hand, and beam till his heart’s content. What a rush!

Now he no longer is in the limelight and he can’t triple stand it. According to Newt Gingrich, Clinton is going “nutty” over being full blown jealous of Bush, hence Bill’s running to mikes anywhere everywhere to say some really dumb things lately.

For instance, Clinton prophesied this week that it will be Communist China or the European Union that will outdo the Untied States in military might. That’s for sure. It’s in the cards. It’s just plain-sight there, according to psychic Bill.

"In all probability, we won't be the premier political and economic power we are now," Clinton told THE WASHINGTON POST on Thursday.

So now you’ve heard it from the Hillary Second Mouth. Bill predicts — front page tabloid fodder.

The shift will take place over the next thirty years, per Bill. China’s economic boom and Europe’s already financial prowess will factor into the swing over.

Of course, Europe’s defense factor is minimal since the Second World War. China does have a fast emerging military budget.

Never forget that Bill did help China’s ability to wipe out US cities. Clinton did his Good Samaritan bit to assist China along the way to supremacy. In 1996, he approved transfer to Beijing of key military guidance tech to enhance Chinese capability to target most metros in the United States. So how do you like Dem apples?

Yep. I believe that Newt is absolutely psycho correct in his couch analysis of the former President.

"President Clinton suffers from a very bad case of victory envy," former Speaker of the House Newt scrutinized with radio host Sean Hannity.

"Victory envy is when you're a loser and you didn't have any victories and now you see a guy who did it for real. And you realize that after all your puny Tomahawk missiles and your puny midnight or 2 a.m. attacks on the information building — I mean, all the different pathetic things that President Clinton did in foreign policy — suddenly you see what a real commander in chief and a real president is like."

Clinton just can’t stand the Bush popularity. But more than the pop, Clinton can’t stand the expertise that Bush carries in his personage. He can’t triple stand it — period!

"I think he's being so critical and so harsh because it drives him a little nutty to see what a real commander in chief who really understands the presidency and who's really prepared to stand up and defend America is doing," Newt elaborated — on target, I might add.

"He failed. He didn't get the job done. He didn't get rid of Saddam. He didn't get rid of bin Laden. George W. Bush is doing the job and I think that it drives Bill Clinton nuts to see the difference between his performance and President Bush."

So there you have it from the psych department. Sounds rational to me.

MID ALL THE TRAFFIC OF THE WAYS. . .

Mid all the traffic of the ways. . .
Turmoil within, without,
Make in my heart a quiet place
And come and dwell therein.

A little shrine of quietness,
All sacred to Thyself,
Where Thou shalt all my soul possess
And I may find myself.

Good morning, Mama_Bear...you were right about that storm...it gave us a beautiful sunset, and then, finally, rain in the middle of the night.

Drizzly and gray, a perfect day underway, oh I love Saturday....)

Good morning, Freepers...anyone ready for breakfast?

Mornin' - that calendar picture was taken of WVNan and me as little girls.
(Sistah never could make me keep my shoes on..:))

She was a good artist, too, and I think painted this during World War II - there were only 48 states and stars then, of course - - -

I would be humbled in this trial.
I need its lesson true.
I've much to learn in Father's school--
Obedience to heaven's cue.

Hello, BeforeISleep!
Planted some flowers yesterday, and last night we had a rainstorm that settled into a gentle all-night soaking rain . . great for nourishing the plants, and for sleeping.

Going back to get some more "ammo" to place in other beds and pots in a little while!

I Love May . . .

And a special Good Morning to you in Maine!
If it is the weekend, it is time for more postings of your words to enrich us here at The Finest.

Keeps us uplifted and balanced in a lovely way as most enjoy leisure time - - -

For some Americans, however, there is no rest - -

O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved,
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine
Till all success In nobleness,
And ev'ry gain divine!

Good morning (-:

I waited for the rain last night, (like to listen to it as I drift off)
but except for a brief shower very early...nothing.
I think it did much later on, but I've been sleeping soundly the last couple of nights, and might have missed it.
We have bright sunshine now, and the day is shaping up to be beautiful.
