Kilmeade takes a swipe at Clinton.

Posted on 06/04/2003 10:53:19 AM PDT by ConservativeMan55

This morning Brian Kilmeade took a shot at Bill Clinton while talking about Sammy Sosa.

Brian:
"Geez, we had Sammy Sosa doing this in 1998, then Mark Maguire with the steroids, and also Clinton. Was anything in 1998 real at all?"

Then the other day he took a pot shot at CNN.
He was talking to Michele Malkin, and she said that some critics tell her to go back to her own country. Brian responded..

"Well, those people are from CNN, and they are just jealous because you are here on Foxnews."

Hold off on Sosa. Wait until all the rest of his bats are examined. If only one or two others have cork, then Cubs fans will buy his story. But if half of the 20 they picked up are altered, then he's in deep shit.

Sosa grabbing the "wrong" bat is about as likely as me "accidentally" using my daughter's golf clubs!!

Taint gonna happen especially to a player already in a slump.

Kilmeade is great to listen to. When he gets going, it's like hearing one of my friend's rants. Great stuff!
As to Sosa's problems, maybe they should have clinocchio throw out the first base at the next Cubs game. He could sit with Sammy during the games he had been suspended for and; give him tips on how to lie deny and evade. It'll be one hall of famer to another.

He was talking to Michele Malkin, and she said that some critics tell her to go back to her own country.

From Michelle’s bio:

Malkin, the daughter of Filipino immigrants, was born in Philadelphia, Pa. in 1970 and raised in southern New Jersey. She worked as a press inserter, tax preparation aide, and network news librarian; she is also a lapsed classical pianist. Malkin’s hobbies include crocheting and pier fishing with her dad. She also is editor of porkwatch.com, a web site devoted to exposing and publicizing corporate welfare.

He probably only alters one or two at a time. No way he'd do it to all 20 of his bats, it takes a lot of effort. So even if the others are not corked, it's not a sign of innocence.

With the frequency of broken bats, it is a stupid thing to do.

That's for sure!

I'll go further and say Sosa's finished.

Even in "forgiving" (it was only a little piece of cork, or it depends on the definition of cork) America, this assh@l& is toast.

I also should add that I don't buy the notion that he did it for batting practice. You practice with the bat you use in a game. Had the league known he had an illegal bat in the dugout, it would have banned the bat, because the temptation is too great to use it in a key situation. I don't think he took the chance of an illegal bat just to hit homers in batting practice. Maybe he had it made special for the Home Run Derby, and then decided to keep using it.

Excellent point.

The prevalence of broken bats these days can be attributed to the prevalence of bats with super slim handles. If a pitched ball doesn't make contact with the fat of the bat, the skinny handles can't handle the stress and the bat breaks (usually in two distinct parts). I'd imagine the players favor this design because they think it gives them more power, but I think that reasoning is bogus. The bats used by players of old - Babe Ruth's being the most conspicuous example - had very thick handles, and his power obviously wasn't adversely affected. In more modern times, the power of 185 lb. Hank Aaron didn't seem to be adversely affected by his era's bat designs.

In an era of juiced baseballs, very advanced workout regimens, and super "supplements," Sosa is a complete loser for using a corked bat. So his well-struck home runs would travel only 470 feet instead of 510 ....big freakin' deal.

What's the doubt? Either he used a cork-filled bat or he didn't. Even a Gore supporter ought to be able to understand that. {These ChiCub supporters are bablling about, "Say it ain't so, Sammy". The same statement that was used about the Chicago Black Sox 85 years ago, and in the same city.]

Now now, temper those thoughts :). They're bookends, Brian to start the day and Shep to finish it. They both are humorous yet they know of whay they speak. While you may not be a fan of Shep's can you honestly say that he's no less prepared for his spots? I can't bring myself to imagine a Fox without either of them. They both fill a niche that's ignored everywhere else.

A Kilmeade "golden oldie":

KILMEADE: Mr. President, there's a report today that you had the best shot at (Osama bin Laden) in December, in the waning weeks of your presidency and at the last minute you said "No, too much of a risk." How true is that?

CLINTON: No, it's not true. The best shot we had at Osama bin Laden was when I bombed his training camp in 1998 and we missed him by just a matter of hours. Maybe even less than an hour.

KILMEADE: Do you feel somewhat responsible?

CLINTON: Well, let me say this. We tripled the intelligence budget for counterintelligence -- for counterterrorism.
