If you believe in God and His justness, can you then deny His call to holiness in sexual matters?

I do not.

I deny the unholy call of the local government in marriage matters.

I believe we are not far from seeing the state marriage laws promoting divorce in most states in the same light that we see the laws promoting abortion.

Can a marriage be Godly without the stamp of approval of the unGodly administrators who are destroying it?

That is the real question.

Is sex really fornication in the eyes of the Lord until the lesbian wiccan court clerk stamps my license?

Weird....

I really don't think the character, or lack thereof, of the person stamping the license has anything to do with anything, any more than if a lesbian wiccan is your checkout girl at the grocery store.

You don't evade the law and take the groceries without paying the wiccan for them any more than you evade the law by not being legally married because a wiccan stamps the license.

I have the gut feeling that you know your argument is absurd.......especially if your claim to still believe in God.

Good rule of thumb......never let your emotions make moral decisions. Use your head.

You’re cracking me up dude. Please continue, you have almost made my day.

get emotionally healthy
Hey "chookter" can you please tell me what the he11 this means?

I figured out that for all the money I made in the last 20 years I could have stayed single and had at least a $500 hooker every week and still have a great lifestyle. But then I wouldn’t have these wonderful kids. Ah, the mysteries of life, I love and enjoy encountering each and every one of them.

I'll not get married again. Not a priest so I sure ain't gonna remain celibate at 35 w/ no kids....

I'd rather sin than to allow the courts and cops to confiscate what I worked for.... for the third time. Let God judge me.

Girls are much worse today than guys are- years of growing up fatherless, womens lib,MTV and scores of magazines have turned most of them into plain old sluts.

I apologize for not having the time to write a 5 page treatise for you to "prove" my "oversimplification".

Oh, no need to apologize. You made a rash oversimplification. You got called on it. No biggie.

Surely you have some to demonstrate how I am "mischaracterizing numerous influences and socialogical phenomena", and what those influences and phenomena are (or, at the very least, where I read about it).

I don't have the time to demonstrate where you read about what you think you understand you're talking about.

What a quaint assumption.

Correct, any sexual relationship outside of marriage between a man and a woman is sinful period. According to Gods word.

I am a 21 year old female, going to be a senior in college in the fall. I don't understand why dating is so harmful. My parents have been very present in the decisions that I have made about men. They have questioned me, talked with me and been active in my decision making. I dated through high school, not solidly, but I dated and I continue to date. I have met some boys, some men and some friends. I have also had a good time. I don't understand what harm has been inflicted on me. I think that as long as parents are there to support their children and and help their children and talk to them up front rather than avoiding the issue that the children will learn about respect and healthy relationships. Maybe I am wrong but that's the way I see it.

I'm not sure if girls are worse, but they're easily as bad, and more obvious about it.

Interestingly, I've had fairly strict religious Jews tell me that non-/pre-marital sex is NOT considered a sin under many circumstances according to their religion...

Then they arent reading the Bible for that point of view.

I am sure there are many women here who could tell very similar tales about the men they have encountered over the years.

Of course, I was told the other day that when my ex went off the deep end it was because he was suffering from latent homosexual tendencies, and I should have recognized that before we got married, therefore it was my fault I was a single parent. Relating this to you because there are those here that will blame your marriage failures on you... you just should have known better. I don't agree, and I can say that you aren't to blame, most likely.

But, as I haven't, neither should you, give up on pursuing things the right way. I do wish I could find a man out there that would court me (although, being a single parent, and living nowhere near my parents) it would be strange. And right now my priority is to finish raising my kids and get them off into the world successfully, which I might add they prove new things to me daily that they will be.

You make an interesting point, however I don't think the sanctity of marriage is dependent on the environment in which it occurs. For example, two friends of mine were married by a respected pastor. Several years after their marriage it was discovered that this pastor had been cheating on his wife (for those of you playing along at home, I believe this is adultery, which is a form of fornication.) Does this pastor's sin make my friend's marriage null and void?

Another thing to consider...Jesus was questioned about whether it was right to pay taxes to Caesar. He did not say we shouldn't pay taxes because the Roman government was corrupt, pagan, etc. He said, "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's, and unto God that which is God's."

I would argue that God established marriage and it is a holy institution, regardless of the state or the participants. (BTW, I tend to avoid lesbian wiccan court clerks also.)

It's a choice, that's all, and I think in the environment of today's sex-saturated society, it's a better one......especially in High School.

At the age of 21, most people are mature enough to avoid the pitfalls that teenagers can fall into (teens are the ones I think should avoid dating). That's especially true of young adults like you (and our kids) who have healthy relationships with their parents.

btw, I'm not talking about going to the Prom, or Homecoming.....I'm talking about being in 'a relationship' in High School.
