The South Carolina Chapter of Free Republic met for the last time today at Maurices Bar-b-Que in Columbia.

The following were in attendance:

The meeting was held at Maurices Bar-b-Que on Two Notch Road in Columbia, South Carolina from 12 noon to 3pm on September 27, 2003.

Informal discussion of Grassroots organization and how various groups have organized were discussed. DHuffman lead the discussion on this. One question that he put before the group was "What is conservatism"

Also discussed was the possibility of "locale" meetings weekly or biweekly with the State Chapter meeting every other month. This was brought up by both SC Swamp Fox and Dixie Sass.

Also mentioned was perhaps meeting in other parts of the State.

Hillary Clinton will be Columbia on the 6th of October and a FReep is planned for that time. SwampFox will be posting the details.

Final point discussed was changing the name of the South Carolina Chapter to the Palmetto Chapter due to past events and disassociating ourselves from them.

Nice to meet several fellow SC FReepers at the meeting today. For those of you unable to attend (and you know who you are :), you missed some great food and even better conversation.

I compiled a "postable" list of all freepers in SC last night. I used it on the "Hildebeast Freep" thread and have had a handful of "add me" / "remove me" requests.

Do you know of any Freepers not in our locale that I need to add to Palmetto pings? You know, like that short, annoying, yankee sailor you were spending time with. lol
