Bible is the FINAL AUTHORITY
Bible believing Christians should know what authority and which Bible is Gods Holy word.
A careful review of the Bible on the subject of Its Own Authority reveals that the Bible should be the Sole Source of AUTHORITY on all matters of faith and practice for the Christian. With the exception of God Himself, a Christian should place nothing above the Bible nor should the Bible be put in subjection to the Christians own culture, prejudices and biases. No church; no group; no fellowship; no ecclesiastical organization; no pope; no government; no school or university; no man or movement should be placed above the Bible.
Ultimately the Bible is the FINAL AUTHORITY.
But if you think that the Christians FINAL AUTHORITY is a church, a Christian Institution; a man (pope or pastor, or some other celebrity), then think again, WHAT is your FINAL AUTHORITY in all matters of faith and practice in reference to God Almighty?
When you die some day, you will need to answer this question directly to God Almighty.
Do not be found in this role:
Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Oh, bless my bunions, this again? You know you have only one more day to clean your ceiling fan blades, don’t you?
So this was just rolling around in your head and you decided to post a thread about it?
The scary thing is that you’re probably exactly right.
Did you have a good Thanksgiving, no kitchen disasters or intra-family homicides?
All good, no negative incidents to report even though the ex-wife was involved.
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving too!
I agree with everything you say here...but I’m not sure why you would post it as a standalone thread.
Probably better not to ask too many questions.
The bible is not to be worshiped. John 5:39,40 You
diligently study[c] the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life.
These are the Scriptures that testify about me, .. yet you refuse to come to me to have life.
Which translation are we to worship? There are striking contradictions in the publication put together almost 400 years after Christ. Many books like James just don’t belong there. What about all the books left out? No .I think the Bible can be a secretarial reflection of events but is an idol not to be worshiped .
Just asking.
Yes, we did. A few disasters, one involving a dragon, but no deaths. Excellent food. We’re having turkey enchiladas tonight. DP is cooking a sauce that’s making all the pets evacuate ...
actually. it makes sense to say the word of god is the final authority
And the Bible tells us in John and the Letters of John that all is not recorded.
Thus we have Holy Tradition too.
God is perfect. Christ Jesus is perfect. Therefore, God’s Word to us today is perfect.
So, who wrote down God’s words and who arranged the books for God?

How did that come out and why?
There are two important factors that need to be addressed. Most Christian denominations or individuals that believe that the Bible is the final authority have to answer the question as to why there are different beliefs. Many of these beliefs are in direct contradiction to each other. I suspect that you hold many beliefs, which you can quote verses to substantiate, against those that hold contradictory beliefs, which they can also substantiate by Bible verses. It is not enough to say that the Bible is the final authority. Actually, God is the final authority, but I will not quibble with you on this.
You chop it, and I will bake it. Yum.
