Are Cardinals Electing The Last Pope? If You Believe Nostradamus...
By Carol Grisanti, Producer, NBC News ROME (snip)
According to an ancient prediction, this next pope will be the last. That theory dates back more than 900 years to when Malachy OMorgair, the 12th century Archbishop of Ireland, had a vision.
Legend has it that St. Malachy, as he is now known, had a strange dream while on a visit to Rome. He saw all the names of the future popes complete with identifying characteristics who would rule the church until the end of time.
In his book, Life of St. Malachy, St. Bernard of Clairvaux wrote that Malachy was respected as a clairvoyant who predicted the exact day and hour of his own death. At least one 20th century pope, Pius X, was convinced Malachys vision was divine, according to Rafael Merry del Val, his biographer.
Pope Benedict was apparently described as glory of the olives and doomsayers point to his choice of the name Benedict, since the founder of the Benedictine Order was also known as Olivetans.
And in Malachys vision, the last pope who will soon be elected is described this way: in extreme persecution, the seat of the Holy Roman Church will be occupied by Peter the Roman
While none of the Italian Cardinals are called Peter, one favorite to become Pope is Cardinal Peter Turkson of Ghana.
Lighting strikes the basilica of St.Peter's dome in Vatican City during a storm on Feb.11, 2013, the same day Pope Benedict XVI announced his resignation.
Nostradamus: a comet and a lightening bolt If that was not enough to send shivers down a few spines, Nostradamus, the 16th century French astrologer and seer, predicted much the same as Malachy.

And let the selling of the conspiracy books begin!
The heart of Christianity is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself and His blood and body sacrifice for our sins--not St.Peter's Basilica.
Yes, in The Holy Sacrifice of The Mass and in the divine instruction given to Peter, the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven, his apostles and their successors to teach one faith, one truth, and as part of one church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Actually, 1 is sufficient ... 'It is not an approved apparition, and the evidence is consistent with it being a forgery composed around 1590.'
“According to an ancient prediction, this next pope will be the last.”
That’s what they said about the last Pope. But eventually they’ll get it right if they keep hedging their bets.
If Peter from Africa is elected I’m going to daily mass, to wait for my end times.
I think Peter the Roman simply is a pope that will be strong on doctrine.
The elected person always takes another name. He would not take the name Peter. BTW, I don’t believe he will be selected — too socialistic.
Why not go to Daily Mass anyway?
I do not believe so either that Cardinal Peter Turksman will be elected, not only because of what you had said, but also his name wast touted a lot by the news media over the last few weeks. That is not good.
My best guess is these 3 but again this is my best guess: Tagle, Rajaith, or Burke.
Overall let the Holy Spirit do HIS WORK.
As my priest has said quite a bit lately.
Those Cardinals who go into the conclave expecting to come out wearing the white robes, will come out as Cardinal.
Cardinal Turksman has been too outspoken on his desires to higher office.
St. Peter’s church is the “heart of Christianity” to over 1 billion folks, who all BELIEVE in Jesus. Is is built over the tomb of Jesus’ Apostle, Peter. Can you say that of any other church?
In general, I see the paranormal as real in many respects even though, to keep from being taken in by fraud and self deluded invention, I am deeply skeptical of specific claims.
