  • Vanity - Is Pope Francis turning out to be 'Petrus Romanus'

Petrus Romanus, qui pascet oves in multis tribulationibus, quibus transactis civitas septicollis diruetur, & judex tremendus judicabit populum suum. Finis. I am generally skeptical of the St Malachy prophecy, but seemingly it appears to be coming fulfilled.

St. Malachy, an Irish archbishop born in 1094, reportedly was summoned to Rome by Pope Innocent II. While there, tradition holds that he had a vision in which details were revealed to him about all of the future popes. After he wrote the vision and gave it to the Pope, his document was filed in the Catholic Church archives and was left forgotten until it was discovered by Arnold de Wyon, a Benedictine historian, in 1590. In 1595, de Wyon published St. Malachy's vision in his Lignum Vitae.

2013 Be Not Afraid: Catholic Families and the Prophecies of St. Malachy By Donald Prudlo, Ph.D. The announcement of the renunciation of Pope Benedict and the preparations for the conclave have once again brought to light the so-called “Prophecy of the Popes,” sometimes attributed to St. Malachy. At every papal election, these “prophecies” are trotted out, with the attendant tortured explanations about how their trite, nebulous descriptions fit whoever the pope in question is.  During this election some have been especially alarmed that the prophecies end with the next pontificate. It is good to give this issue a brief consideration...

Sunday, March 10, 2013 St. Malachy: The Case for Authenticity While we all wait with anticipation for the election of our next Holy Father at the Conclave next Tuesday, let's take a minute to stop and bring some sanity back to the discussion of the prophecies of St. Malachy. As we get closer to the Conclave, more and more articles on the alleged prophecies of St. Malachy are being posted all over the web, usually from mainstream, conservative Catholics who are bent on drumming into people's heads that the prophecies are forgeries and that serious Catholics should not pay them...

Are Cardinals Electing The Last Pope? If You Believe Nostradamus... By Carol Grisanti, Producer, NBC News ROME— (snip) According to an ancient prediction, this next pope will be the last. That theory dates back more than 900 years to when Malachy O’Morgair, the 12th century Archbishop of Ireland, had a vision. Legend has it that St. Malachy, as he is now known, had a strange dream while on a visit to Rome. He “saw” all the names of the future popes – complete with identifying characteristics – who would rule the church until the end of time. In his book,...

Resigning Pope Brings Doomsday Prophecy Is the world only a Pope away from the End? Yes, if you believe a chilling 12th-century prophecy. Attributed to St. Malachy, an Irish archbishop canonized in 1190, the Prophecy of the Popes would date to 1139. The document predicted that there would be only 112 more popes before the Last Judgment — and Benedict XVI is 111. The list of popes originated from a vision Malachy said he received from God when he was in Rome, reporting on his diocese to Pope Innocent II. The story goes that St. Malachy gave the apocalyptic list...

Saint Malachy  Prophecies about 112 popes until the end of the world. Note: The Church does not lean on private revelation for doctrinal matters, but it does not oppose to the faithful obtaining benefit from them so long as they don't go against our faith.   This analysis focuses on the last five Popes in the context of the prophecies of Saint Malachy. + + +   Saint Malachy was born in Amagh Ireland in 1094, he lived a religious life as a monk, then he was ordained priest and finally Bishop. He was canonized in 1199 by Pope Clement III....

  • Malachy's Peter the Roman: Msgr. Pietro Parolin?

Is Monsignor Pietro Parolin, an official with the Vatican's Roman Curia, destined to be Saint Malachy's prophesied "Petrus Romanus"? The following might present what is to be the future fulfillment of St. Malachy's prophecy concerning "Peter the Roman." It is lifted from ... "Because no number is assigned to Petrus Romanus (Malachy's 112th "pope"), it is possible that (Peter the Roman) may take on the role of the Pope without putting on the robe of the Pope. Under this possible scenario, a catastrophe at the Vatican (perhaps a terrorist attack) could wipe out the top leadership of the Church...

PROPHETIC STIR CONTINUES OVER DEATH OF ONE POPE AND THE ELEVATION OF ANOTHERA prophetic stir continues under the radar of mass media, and it attaches, of course, to recent events. There was the death of mystic Maria Esperanza of Venezuela, who said that the year 2004 would kick off a series of major events. There were the subsequent hurricanes. There was the tsunami. There was the death of Sister Lucia of Fatima. There was the death of John Paul II -- long linked to the prophetic pulse -- and the elevation of a man who in a striking fashion calls...

RATZINGER APPEARS TO FULFILL MALACHY PROPHECYThe moment was one only the Church could pull off: a massive crowd, the ultimate in suspense, fantastic pageantry to match the glory of God.In fact, even a Fox News commentator commented that on a cloudy day, the sun uncannily erupted at the time of announcement and Rome embraced spring. It was Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, dean of the College of Cardinals, close confidant of John Paul II, celebrant of the last pope's funeral, and keeper of the flame who became the 265th pontiff. He is a man who will maintain an accent on orthodoxy as well as...
  • Prophecy points to "Olive" Pope

Rome, April 11 (Reuters): Maybe it describes the colour of his skin or place of birth. But the next Pope will be the “Olive” Pope, according to a 12th century prophecy that foresees just two remaining pontificates before the end of the world. The often-cited — and contested — prediction is attributed to St Malachy, an Irish archbishop recognised by members of the church for his ability to read the future and who was canonised more than 800 years ago. St Malachy was said to have had a vision during a trip to Rome around 1139 of the remaining 112...

Modern communication technology has helped make the Pope’s death an unparalleled event. The entire world has literally come together to praise this one man. I find that many sense that there will be some important and climactic consequences to follow the death of this Pope. As I studied the many Bible prophecies of the Last Days, I found a most unusual extra-Biblical prophecy made by an Irish Catholic Bishop in the 12th Century. His name is St. Malachy. According to his biographer St. Bernard of Clairvaux, in his book Life of Saint Malachy, St. Malachy was known to have the...

A 10th Century Irish bishop - St. Malachy - predicted every pope that would preside over the Catholic Church. Almost ten centuries ago, Malachy predicted this pope would be noted by an eclipse of the sun. In an eerie coincidence, John Paul II was the only known pope to be born on the day of a solar eclipse. But the prophetic link doesn't end there. Pope John Paul II will be buried this Friday during another solar eclipse. Astronomers say that on Friday, the day of the Pope's funeral, a partial solar eclipse will blot out most of the sun...

A POPE DESCRIBED AS 'FROM THE SUN' WAS BORN DURING ECLIPSE AND LEAVES WITH ONEHe was born during an eclipse (May 18, 1920) and there will be an eclipse, a rare type of partial eclipse, Friday (April 8) on the day of his burial. And so now eyes have turned more intently to an old prophecy attributed to the Irish monk St. Malachy O'Morgair -- who supposedly foresaw the entire succession of popes by using riddle-like nicknames, with the one fitting the 110th -- John Paul II -- being De Labore Solis, which means  "from the labor of the sun."Indeed,...
