Why Some Christians Don't Celebrate Christmas
United Church of God, an International Association ^ | Jerold Aust

Posted on 12/10/2013 5:12:18 PM PST by narses

Many feel that Christmas marks Christ's birthday and that it honors Him. After all, can 2 billion professing Christians be wrong? At the same time, some few Christians don't observe Christmas, believing that Jesus didn't sanction it and that it dishonors Him. Who is right—and why?

Just like some one once said , knowing something does not save you but maybe it will make some one else see how they have been misled.

Once upon a time ... I use to love all the Holidays.
Then something changed within me.
Halloween was the first to go.
Then Easter went too.
Thanksgiving came and went.
Birthdays flew out soon after.
All it left was Christmas, my favorite time of the year, but that soon changed too.
Many reasons why, besides the pagan connections, and the misinformation handed down to us.

The way I look at it now ... everyday is Christmas, because we should be giving of ourselves everyday to one another.
Everyday is Thanksgiving, for we should be thankful for all that we’ve been given, and to share it with others too.
Everyday is a birthday, because I woke up again from my rest, and I can work on renewing my mind and my spirit once again.
Everyday is also Fathers and Mothers Day, because I cherish the ones who brought me up, all the time.

Halloween ... well, I’ve never really understood what was so hallow or holy about ghouls, goblins, witches, ghosts and spiders, as I tricked and treated along my merry way.

Easter ... wow ... if I only knew then, what I know now.
I prefer to honor the Passover during that season because of the Lamb that was slain is our Passover, and not some pink bunnies, little yellow chicks, jelly beans, and those colored eggs peeps keep rolling around town.

What I just shared might be offensive to some, but I’m not here to do as the world does. I refuse to conform to this world, or to the ways of any denomination, or church in this world.

I just want to look up and say, did I do good today Father, and please be patient with me, for there is much more that I need to work on, and I look forward to the return of the Good Shepherd, for some in this flock have surely lost their way.

Beautiful post. Thank you.

How could you have us beat, when we've doubled our numbers just within the last couple of hours?

Thank you for your post #20
I realized a few years back, about some of the things you just shared here, and it really got me to thinking about a lot of things I was taught or told.

There was pastor on TV talking about it too, Arnold Murray from Shepherds Chapel really opened my eyes about it all. I no longer can see him on TV because I just have a antenna, but he has a website though that has his broadcasts.

Everything I was taught, from the Garden of Eden to the Book of Revelation was misinformation, or unknowingly distorted.

Now, I just keep studying, listening, learning, watching, and asking the LORD to lead and guide me to wherever He wants me to be.

Thanks again for being here on this site to share these things.

Well, I don't think that the Bible says anything about celebrating Christ's birth. On the other hand, we are told to mark his death regularly.

Luke 22:19 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”
... I love Christmas as much as anyone but Christ's birth doesn't save a person. Only his death does that.... 1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”

“Any one who has studied history knows that Jesus was NOT born in the cold and freezing month of December….more likely in September around the time of Yom Kippur. The celebrations by the pagans of the winter solstice led the church to incorporate those celebrations into its system to gain support.

Those are the facts of history.”

Ditto. Many modern holidays are hijacked pagan dates of observation since, in plying native populations to the new faith, they tried to make it as palatable to them as possible.

Not wrong, just the way it is.

Why Yom Kippur ?

Why not during the Feast of Tabernacles.

When John said He Tabernacled among us.

Christmas is not “Christian” by any measure, and it displeases God immensely when the world worships the Sun god in the name of his Son.

That’s as good a festival to pick for that time of year as the day of atonement….

I have no quarrel with that

Funny, when I go to Christmas Mass all of the Bible readings and prayers are about the birth of Jesus Christ. It must not be the same at the Christmas services that you go to.

>> “Catholics are THE Christian church” <<

.
But they are most certainly not The Way!

The Way is what Yeshua’s perfect sacrifice gave us, and against which the RCC does battle every minute of every day, denying Yehova’s perfect feasts and worshiping on the days of the feasts of the sun god and his harlot wife.

Christmas is an abomination, and a stench in the nostrils of Yehova.

It is the very same disobedience that sent Israel into captivity, now repeated systematically by the RCC.
