Third parties a dud in 2012
The Examiner ^ | July 6, 2012 | Michael McGuire

Posted on 07/06/2012 6:08:23 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Voter dissatisfaction or not, there is very little support this year for third party presidential candidates.

In a Gallup Poll released Friday that includes three minor-party candidates, Barack Obama received 47 percent support, Mitt Romney 40, Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson 3, Green candidate Jill Stein 1 and Constitution Party candidate Virgil Goode less than 1.

Two percent of voters said they favor U.S. Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX), 1 percent mentioned someone else, 2 percent had no opinion and 5 percent said they will not vote.

If that is bad news for minor-party candidates, it will get worse for them as the campaign continues, if historical trends continue...

That's very fortunate.

Unless, of course, Nalph Raider wants to jump in for another go at capturing those dyslexics on the butterfly ballot. I'd send him a check!

Yup. And how do we recover from this ? Trust Willard to save the Republic and appoint Conservatives to the bench ? He HATES Conservatives. Loathes them. He views them as rubes and suckers to step on to get to the Presidency. This is the alternative to save us from Zero ? Who the **** is going to save us from Willard (or Roberts, who is still well to his right !) ?

Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Axelrod. They're all in the Field Marshal's corner! LOL!

You confuse voting with making a statement of principle.

Sorry, my vote is sacred

Your vote is worthless unless cast with strategy, not principle, in mind.

After reading all that hatred, Fieldmarshaldj, I must ask how you feel about Jews?

Hatred is a powerful force.

As sad as this is...I think most politicians regard us a rubes. It’s probably always been that way, but the older politicians were smart enough to keep things “under cover”. It doesn’t seem to be an issue any more with these folks. I loath about 96 per cent of them.

I don’t think the Repub Party was lost over night. It will take effort on our part to regain it. I believe we can. But it won’t happen over night.

I don’t think there is an alternative to Romney or The Won at this point. We are stuck...or do you know something I don’t.

I understand your frustation. I feel it as well.

Haven’t we had this conversation before ? Making stupid comments won’t help your argument, but they sure do prove mine.

Sorry, I see up thead you are voting for Goode.

Please withdraw my previous question.

I would never try to sway a persons vote.

Not my style.

And good luck to you.

Conservatives working together could put a stop to this madness at the convention in Tampa and demand that farce and fraud of a candidate be forced out. Where are the leaders who will stand up and save this country ? All I see are hordes of lemmings.

Not all people are as “plugged” in to politics as we are.

Myth won the votes in most states. He got the 1145 electoral votes...in one way or another.

I would love to see a huge upset at the convention, but I don’t see it as a happening thing.

Doesn’t mean we can’t ultimately prevail.

That was a fixed race from the get-go. What a farce. I thought 2008 was a joke, but this one took the cake. The party establishment wants so badly to commit suicide. When they do, they’ll finally have the one-party state they’ve worked so hard for... the Big Gubmint Marxist-Socialist Combine. Just like in Illinois and Massachusetts and on and on...

Haven’t we had this conversation before ?

Quite possibly. I'm too lazy to google at the moment.

Making stupid comments won’t help your argument, but they sure do prove mine.

The fact remains, if you don't vote for the GOP nominee, it'll be your fault if Chief Justice Johnny swears in the Won for the third time next January.

Wow! That is quite a ping!

I looked back and none of these people have been on this thread.

My conversation has been with you. (If you get my drift.)

Refreshing your memory...

Which is why I will never cast a vote for either Zero or his vanilla twin Willard. No favorable result comes of voting for either abomination.

Willard's a squish, but he is not even remotely in the same class as Obama.

Fact is, if the election goes Willard's way, it's likely the House and Senate will be Republican.

If not, then the opposite. Another four years for the Traitor in Chief to mold the USA to his vision. Kiss it good bye. May it go the way of the USSR.

On the other hand, with a solid GOP victory (inconceivable unless it includes the White House), there is hope. Willard's good at etching — that's why he has a nine digit net worth. What he's not so good at is choosing what sketch to etch. That's where the House and Senate come in.

And just so you don’t think I’m running off in “fear” of your ping...It is very late, I have to work tomorrow.

But I’ll be back tomorrow.

I’m just very disappointed you didn’t fight your own battle.

I always considered you to be a stand up dude/dudette.

Oh, well.

So you’re voting for Obama for the good of conservatism.

Yep.

No, it will be mitt romney’s fault. He is the candidate and he needs to win the support of people to vote for him. If he cannot convince Conservatives that their vote should go to him... then he has not earned that vote and he is not automatically deserving of those votes. There are other names on the ballot and they are not obama. Anybody but obama... means ANYBODY but obama. A vote is a right... and no one has the right to demand that vote because they want it... they have to earn it. My vote is not a welfare chit and it will not be given freely again.
