Please don't take this comment the wrong way. I'm praying for them as I type this. That said, this is going to knock the Swift Boat Vets out of the news. kerry must be cheering over this incident.

The face looks a little weather-worn. Definite nose-job. In a wierd way looks a little like Willie Mays in drag.
That being said if she walked in the front door here right now , I admit, I would dissolve into a puddle on the floor. (Note to self---do NOT forget to pick up the prescrition again tomorrow)

I am curious how it could be identical? The one plane got close to the coast? That would take more than 30 minutes flying time, it would seem, from Moscow. The other only made it 100km or so.

Flight 1303, a Tu-134 operated by Volga-Avia-Express airline, arrived at Moscow at 9:20 p.m. from the southern city of Volgograd, known as Stalingrad during World War II, then loaded new passengers and took off again at 10:32 p.m., according to Russian news reports.

It disappeared at 10:56 p.m. with 34 passengers and eight crew members aboard. Authorities found wreckage from the plane in Tula.

Flight 1047, a Tu-154 operated by Sibir airline, left Moscow at 10:35 p.m. heading for Sochi, then vanished from Russian radar at 10:59 p.m., according to news reports.

The plane would still be seen on radar, even with the Transponder turned off. It would not be broadcasting an identification signal in response to radar. That is what transponder does. It receives a radar transmission and reponds to the radar with a response transmission. Thus it is a transponder. It would be an unidentified flying object. They would have plenty of time to scramble fighter planes to check it out and shoot it down in necessary.

Wow, that is a bad pic of her. I have only seen her playing and she looks WAY better than in that pic.

Thank you:

Flight 1047, a Tu-154 operated by Sibir airline, left Moscow at 10:35 p.m. heading for Sochi, then vanished from Russian radar at 10:59 p.m., according to news reports. Interfax reported that 38 passengers and eight crew members were aboard, while the RIA-Novosti news agency put the number of passengers at 44.

Four hours after the crash, rescue personnel were still searching for the remains of the aircraft about 82 miles from Rostov-on-Don. About 3 a.m. they found a fire they believed could indicate the scene of the crash.

If these planes took off minutes apart and crashed minutes apart, how come they were hundreds of miles apart?

The files you posted look like the kinds of wargaming simulation stuff my co-workers built in the early 90s. It was tested thoroughly in the software development stages and proved useful to Stormin' Norman on the battlefield.

It wouldn't surprise me at all to see al Qaeda in possession of that kind of software. They posted graphics of intended targets in New York that were built with a very high end GIS planning system.

The massive amount of money available to al Qaeda coupled with their cadre of loony college graduates makes for an interesting adversary.

I doubt it. It's front page material for tomorrow, but the lack of facts are going to make the story fairly short with lots of filler material about Chechnya, etc. The only way this story gets much attention for long is if al-Qaida claims responsibility or prominent Americans were onboard.

For the good of the thread, can we all agree that both planes are no longer flying ?

Look at the maps of the two regions:

Rescue squads reached the scene of one crash in the Tula region south of Moscow early Wednesday morning and hours later found a fire that may be from wreckage of the second plane north of Rostov-on-Don.

Tula and Rostov-on-Don are no where near each other. It is just not possible for the planes to leave that closely together and the differing distance covered be so great.

Either they left nearly together, and the crashes are close, or they didn't leave together, and the crashes are further apart.

I was basing my speculation on initial info that said aircraft when down after takeoff.

What is the new altitude info?

From the 911 report:

"Five seconds later, Jarrah asked, “Is that it? Shall we finish it off?” A hijacker responded,“No. Not yet. When they all come, we finish it off. ”The sounds of fighting continued outside the cockpit. Again, Jarrah pitched the nose of the aircraft up and down. At 10:00:26, a passenger in the background said, “In the cockpit. If we don ’t we ’ll die!” Sixteen seconds later, a passenger yelled, “Roll it!” Jarrah stopped the violent maneuvers at about 10:01:00 and said, “Allah is the greatest! Allah is the greatest!” "

Good question - both have about the same cruising speed.= 850 km/hr

Good question. The reported times must be wrong, or we are missing something.

The time from takeoff to crash or dissapearence was
24 minutes = 400 km - the second plane could have flown on w/o transponder and below radar until crashing.
