Is it time for a March on the SCOTUS and the Judiciary and the Senate?

Is it time for a March on the SCOTUS and the Judiciary and the Senate?

Are you as fed up as I am over the bad decisions being handed down by the SCOTUS and throughout the judiciary? Are you tired of judicial activism? Are you tired of being ruled by the men in black robes? Is it time to remind the SCOTUS that We The People ARE the final arbiters of law and justice in this land?

Are you fed up with the weak-kneed Republican Senate? Are you ready to drop the nuclear option on the obstructionist Democrats? Are you fed up with Specter and the RINOs?

Is it time for us to rise up and march on Washington again? How many of you are willing to join me in another march to D.C. to straighten out these yahoos and remind them of who's in charge in this republic?

If they can do it in Lebanon, we can do it here!!

The judges themselves might not care. But if 25,000 or 50,000 people suddenly flooded Washington to protest their rulings, elected officials of all stripes would care and care a lot. The Senate might think twice about their stupid filibuster notion if they realized they would have half of America red hot about it. And lots of Americans would suddenly be paying attention to an issue they aren't being told about by the leftist media.

Just tell me when, I'm there. And I'll bring some others with me. Heck, get Mark Levin to speak to the assembled 'mob' from the steps of the Supreme Court.

As you say, if they can do it in Lebanon, why can't we do it?

He took charge - he took control - he wasn't nasty - just honest - IT'S OVER!! He's a cowboy - and we love that about him.

Maybe we need to convey that to our senators and try to make them realize that if they don't DO SOMETHING they are going to lose our support!!

You make an outstanding point, CyberAnt. Worth repeating.

Let's do it BEFORE Justice Stephen Breyer decides that some French court ruling makes the First Amendment inapplicable to peaceful protests of our black robe wearing, unaccountable and unelected legislators.

EAGLES UP !!

Hmmmm? Then how about WE REPEAT IT AGAIN - MAYBE SOME OF THEIR STAFF WILL BE LURKING AND GET THE MESSAGE:

Bush took charge - he took control - he wasn't nasty - just honest - IT'S OVER!! He's a cowboy - and we love that about him.

Maybe we need to convey that to our senators and try to make them realize that if they don't DO SOMETHING they are going to lose our support!!

Did you hear the Deputy Sheriff (I think) call in from Missouri who had dealt with that case? He was furious, as you can well imagine.

You're right, that was really, really hard to listen to. It made me sick, as well. But it may galvanize people to action, which is why Rush did it.

First, my bona fides: mid-grade officer in the military, 19 years of active and reserve service, graduate of one of the services' war college command and staff programs, master's in national security studies, author of peer-reviewed articles on national security issues, veteran of both Iraq wars, Bosnia and Kosovo, and not generally known by peers to overreact.

That being said, the reliance by the USSC on foreign jurisprudence, unratified treaties and "public consensus" to interpret the foundational document of our Republic makes me uneasy. I conducted an informal poll of my fellow officers through the day on a service-related web site, and although the sample was self-selecting, about 60% of respondents indicated that this trend is either somewhat or strongly undermining the Constitution. The other 40% thought it had no effect. None believed it was strengthening our system of government. Obviously I'm not the only one in uniform that is paying close attention to what is going on and is disturbed by these developments.

For those of you that do not know, in the first clause of his oath of office an officer swears to "...support and defend the Constitution of the United States, against all enemies, foreign and domestic...." Do not get me wrong, the military is not contemplating marching on the District of Columbia; but we are watching more closely than most think, and we are reminded that not all threats are external.

You, as the Citizens of our great Republic have the first move to ensure this problem is corrected. The legal process must run its course . Congress should be the focus of your efforts, because they are sensitive to public opinion, and they can do something about it. Impeaching a Justice or two, even with an acquittal, would send a powerful message to the current bench and aspirants.

Start there, and we'll keep watching. You can count on it....

Laura Ingraham said today that there was something we could do and she said there was a website linked on her site. I could not find that link on her site. What can we do to fight these activist-judges?

If Kennedy was nominated today, the Dems would have filibustered him. Look how he voted on this and some previous rulings. What a judge would do on the bench is not very clear by who nominates him/her. True Democrats would nominate liberals, but I am not sure whether Republicans can be completely trusted by who they nominate - like Brennan, O'Connor, Souter, et al.

Um, POTUS only has the Andrew Jackson option.

I was listening to my local radio station this morning and a caller brought up the issue of our senators having the power to rule certain justices invalid to rule on certain constitutional matters that they are deemed to be an activist on...The host said yes, that was an option but, it would not have an effect on the latest Kennedy opinion...Senator Kyle, R Arizona has been invited on to speak more about it..Hopefully he will be on in the next day or so.

Are you fed up with Specter and the RINOs?

Damn, Jim. I'm glad you posted this, because I'm fed up with the pom pom squad around here supporting Sphincter (probably because the White House helped him out in the election), to the detriment of conservatives.

Four outta five so called congressional "conservatives" would need a Chevy axle shoved up their backside for them to exhibit any semblence of backbone these days.

I agree with Levin. I think term limits for SCOTUS isn't necessarily a bad idea.

Ping to judicial nomination ping list!

Kay R. Daly has asked me to maintain and use this list started by her. She is running Coalition for a Fair Judiciary, now battling to get judicial nominees a vote on the Senate floor.

You are being pinged this first time because you signed up for the list. (This supplements a ping to others on the list earlier on this thread as I consolidate two groups of FReepers from the list.)

Please ping me or FReepmail me to get on or off the list.
