A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

~ Billie, Mama_bear, dutchess, Aquamarine, DollyCali ~

Hi Finest Friends... It's Pet Day at the Finest. Maggie (the Lovely LadyX) sent us some pictures with this fun idea in mind. Smiles from our Furry Friends

SMILES

Verse:
Dear -ie, now I know just what makes me love you so,
Just what holds me and en -folds me in its gold -en glow;
Dear -ie, now I see 'tis each smile so bright and free,
For life's sad -ness turns to glad -ness when you smile on me;

Chorus:
There are smiles that make us hap -py,
There are smiles that make us blue;
There are smiles that steal a -way the tear -drops
As the sun -beams steal a -way the dew;
There are smiles that have a ten -der mean -ing
That the eyes of love a -lone may see,
And the smiles that fill my life with sun -shine
Are the smiles that you give to me.

Okay...sing-along time!!! (unless your freeping at work!)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are smiles that make us hap -py,
There are smiles that make us blue;
There are smiles that steal a -way the tear -drops
As the sun -beams steal a -way the dew;
There are smiles that have a ten -der mean -ing
That the eyes of love a -lone may see,
And the smiles that fill my life with sun -shine
Are the smiles that you give to me.
Meeky it is warmer here today than it is in your area. I miss Houston and the other areas in the south I have lived.
The cat doing the preflight inspection is not ours, I found the photo on the Supercub.org site.
This however, is our cat Maddie. She likes to 'fly' around the house at mach 2+.
Wow. Warmer in Ohio than here? That's great for ya'll. :)
We have a north wind right now and the thunderstorms are heading this way, I think.
They've had nickel to golf ball size hail a couple or three times around Austin the last few weeks.
ROFL...that's cute as you can get; besides, being all too true!
These ladies are probably, even now, wondering if my return to FR is a good thing.
Hiya, Jim! Long time, no see. It's not too late to call security..;-)
Yep, I went into some archives, searched on "flag", and posted a few that I like the best.
"It's not too late to call security..;-)"
Too bad - but I was just leaving to get more mileage out of my fantastic 30-year old Sears washer that keeps going like the Energizer Bunny!
Last fall, it needed a new pump, but for a lone $60 repairbill, that's quite a good investment.
It is a large load size, and handled our and daughter's and her 3 kid's clothes at times without faltering.
Same for the dryer that NEVER has needed anything but keeping the lint trap clean!
(Dave - in my considered judgment, beowolf is... [relatively] harmless?)
lol
Not sure if this is the correct place to put this, but... I couldn't think of where else it might fit. It is worthy of a minute of your time.
Subject: Wear Red on Fridays
You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why .....
The Americans who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are.
Many Americans, like yourself, would like to start a grassroots movement using the membership of the Special Operations Association, and Special Forces Associations, and al! l their friends, simply, to recogize that Americans support our troops. We need to inform the local VFW's and American Legion, our local press, local TV, and continue carrying the message to the national levels as we start to get this going. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops are -starting Friday, and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red - blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.
Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University.
If everyone of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red!
Let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.
I sent this out to everyone on my email list; hopefully, you will too.
Please forward this to everyone you know!!
Wear Red on Fridays ....
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE.
FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA
Hiya, Dave! I am [relatively] harmless, but I refuse to not be irreverent to one and all..and I accept it in return. I call it playing...:-)
Jim Rob knows that I will behave..sorta, kinda, maybe [ on my good days! ]. Like Jim, I have more important priorities, in my my life, than to try to be a complete idiot [ which was what necessitated the monitor stuff in the first place ]..but, that's all old history that has nothing to do with FR as it exists, now.
I'm just glad to see my old friends [yeah, including you, Jim Rob..:-) ], and make new ones.
