Prayer Needs: TexasFlower has passed away

Posted on 07/09/2005 5:51:44 PM PDT by texanforbush

Hi ~ I wanted to let you know that my dear sister, Tammy, passed away unexpectedly on June 30th. She had gastric bypass surgery on June 27, came home from the hospital on June 29th and passed away in the early morning hours of June 30th.

I'm not exactly sure of Tammy's username (something like "texaswarriorprincess") Tammy often talked about her involvement in this site and our family felt we should notify you of her death.

We lost our Dad in October, 2004. I know Tammy shared the news w/ you of my Dad voting prior to his death. He voted from the back of an ambulance while in hospice care.

We are shocked and deeply saddened by her sudden death. She is survived by our Mom, 2 sisters, one brother, and her two daughters.

Please pray for our family.

You, she, have gifted us all in many ways. The Lord's peace to your family.

What! Tammy (Texasflower) has passed away?! What happened. I didn't even know she was sick. I'm totally shocked. She and I had many a conversation here on FR about many subjects. Most recently, she, silent_jonny, and others enjoyed posting on a huge American Idol thread. I wondered why we hadn't heard from her recently.

Please accept my most sincere sympathy and prayers for your entire family. I considered Tammy a friend. I'm a Kelly Clarkson fan. Earlier this year Tammy told me about the KC concert her daughter went to, and we discussed much about modern pop music.

I'm just so stunned by this tragic news. Texanforbush, please know that your sister was very much appreciated on this forum. One of the best, most kind and nicest people. My heart goes out to all her family, but especially to her children. I wish with all my heart there was something I could do to comfort them.

I exchanged posts with your sister when I was actively involved. She was one of the real ones; decent and level headed.

She asked about you not long ago, wondered where you were. Tammy thought very highly of you, too.

That's because your mama raised you right. At least here in the civilized world, I don't think you'll ever find religious tolerance put in practice better than on the occasion of someone's death.

Thanks for passing that on, I thought the same way about her. She was a real Texas "Flower".

Yeah, I know. He even misspelled his own screenname--at least the "forecaster" part.

I keep thinking about her daughters. They're both under twenty. Their pain must be indescribable.

I reported both his post to the mods. On the second abuse report, I asked them to make that jerk go away. The comments were way out of line for this thread.

Prayers for you and you family, tfb. Rest assured, Tammy is comforted in God's arms now.

As is your Dad. God bless him, I remember that story of his last vote.

Condolences for you and your family in the loss of a dear loved one.

Your Dad is to be admired in his devotion to getting his voice heard, just wonderful.

And then to have two daughters that were interested enough in politics to sign up for a political BB is a testament to your parents influence.

Brings back memories of my conversations with my Dad as he would quiz be about my political acumen. It wasn't real high back then in my younger days.!

It is hard to describe how awful this is.

I trust she is with your father right now and at the feet of Jesus.

I am praying for your strength, and for the strength of her children!

I didn't expect that I would ever meet Tammy in person, but I know I'll meet her in Heaven. When I do, I'm going to give her the biggest bear hug

Jonny, since Texasflower, you and I shared much fun and music on the AI threads, your comment made me think of Keith Urban's "Making Memories of Us." It's on his album "Be Here." The album's only so-so, but I recommend you get it for that one song. Either that, or download it.

Here's the lyrics, posted in loving dedication to our dear Texasflower:

I'm gonna be here for you baby,
I'll be a man of my word,
Speak the language in a voice that you have never heard.
I wanna sleep with you forever,
And I wanna die in your arms
In a cabin by a meadow where the wild bees swarm.

And I'm gonna love you like nobody loves you
And I'll earn your trust making memories of us.

I wanna honor your mother,
I wana learn from your pa.
I wanna steal your attention like a bad outlaw.
I wanna stand out in a crowd for you,
A man among men.
I wanna make your world better than it's ever been.

We'll follow the rainbow
Wherever the four winds blow,
And there'll be a new day
Comin' your way.
I'm gonna be here for you from now on.
This you know somehow.
You've been stretched to the limits but it alright now.

And I'm gonna make you a promise,
If there's life after this,
I'm gonna be there to meet you with a warm wet kiss.

And I'm gonna love you like nobody loves you
And I'll earn your trust making memories of us.

I'm gonna love you like nobody loves you
And I'll win your trust making memories of us.

The saddest thing we have to do as Freepers is to say farewill to a member of our Free Republic family. May you be comforted by the sweet memories you will always have. May God grant you peace.
