Bovine scatology. If they're "smothered" and "restricted" they can't go anywhere and can't do anything. Trust me, I've forgotten more about being "smothered and restricted" than you're likely to know. It didn't kill me, and I certainly wasn't screwing around at 14 ... or 18 ... or 21. And I was married at 28 and am still married to the same lady, so it evidently didn't traumatize me permanently. You don't need to tell me about being "smothered and restricted".

Sounds like you are still carrying issues............. Led a sheltered life?? Smothered? Restricted?? Get a grip. Do you really think because you are restricted that you don't fight back on some level?

??? Huh? The doctor forced them to put their 14-year-old kid on birth control?

Forced them?? I don't think so...........

That would be fine if their advice weren't so abonimable.

And you know their advice is abominable, why?? From what knowledge do you give this opinion?

Sexually active 14-year-olds weren't a major problem back when they simply got married and went to work. There is now a record gap between puberty and marriage. Unintended consequences.

If there are possible "fatal" side effects, then it shouldn't be on the market at all.

In that case, you need to give up all forms of hormone-based birth control and, since all other birth control methods are far less reliable and pregnancy increases the risk of blood clots by a factor of twelve, you need to give up sex too.

a woman's risk of getting a blood clot is approximately: ........... Four to 5 in 100,000 with no birth control............ Twelve to 20 in 100,000 with the low-dose birth control pill. ............. Forty-eight to 60 in 100,000 if she gets pregnant.

We also need to ban peanut butter.

But beyond that, is the issue that some of these people might not understand they have choice to accept or not the doc's recommendations.

And that is where the real problem is. There is a myth that doctors can do no wrong and that you are not allowed to argue with them or tell them no. But now in our litigous society it is okay cause if things get screwed up then you can just sue them. I believe that is the case here. I am very sorry that this young girl died but it appears that her parents blindly followed what the doc suggested, no questions asked. If that is indeed the case, then they have no one to blame but themselves.

Think of this possible scenario.... young girl, starved for affection, boyfriend pushing and whining "if you loved me you would do it". Please................ Life is never simple.

Why starving for affection?!...obviously we do have a parental void in the affection department, don't you think so?

Now, "if you loved me you would, be doing' it" to prove your commitment to me;...a line, I have to admit I have used many times over in my early age.

Now, that I have a daughter, I can teach her the street wise wisdoms as needed, and you can bet she is going to get the best of in regards to the so called "boyfriends".

Further more as a dedicated father, I will make sure who is dating my daughter(just like in the movie "Meet the Parents")and I will watch over her for the rest of her life.(subtle you understand, not overbearing)

At some levels, life is simple, it all depends from what stand point you are looking at!

I would have to make that judgment on a case by case basis, however the post you are responding to took no position on that .

It can be if you let it and you are right, it all depends on your standpoint in life. The nice thing about fathers, like yourself, who have been the boy trying to get laid, you know what to warn your daughters about. They may not always listen but you have experience on your side.

I think we understand here.
That goes back to my point of we all approach these things from different places.

We see the little man behind the curtain and they don't.

Therefore I cant reach the same conclusion that you do on this one. Are you with me there?

aiding and abetting her death? No, I wouldn't go that far.

The parents are suffering enough. There isn't a jury in the world that would convict them of something like that.

I would have to make that judgment on a case by case basis, >>

For a 14 yr. old??? I guess you don't have a daughter. It's very wrong and immoral at that age for anyone. And who knows the age of the male, could be an adult which happens frequently where planned parenthood covers up statutory rape.

however the post you are responding to took no position on that . >>

yea, so?

When the parents of 14 year-old Alycia Brown of La Crosse Wisconsin found out their daughter was sexually active, they did what the modern culture told them was the right thing to do; they put her on birth control, choosing the popular hormonal patch instead of the Pill.

I'm old enough to remember when the culture told the parents that the right thing to do was for the father to grab the boyfriend by the collar and get in his face and tell him if he ever laid a hand on his daughter again ...

Maybe you are too young to remember those days, but it seemed to work pretty well. Problem is, I don't know if it would today. Kids would probably call the cops and report the incident as an assault.

I am forty eight years old. When I was 12 I knew, from school, that I could go to the health department and get birth control. EVERY kid today can get birth control even if their parents are "too uptight" to talk to them. Planned Parenthood is just a nice PC name for eugenics. They offer NO fertility treatment.

Actually there are elements within the Planned Parenthood orbit who are into abortion for purposes of Ba'al worship.

Interesting... I play Baldur's Gate (D&D) on the computer, and the story line revolves around BHAAL, Lord of Murder.
Can you cite sources? I enjoy proof of Planned Parenthood evil. Too many people today think they are a "benovelent"(sp?) organization.

My boyfriend's step-sister is pretty much smothered and restricted, and yet she still managed to have sex with her boyfriend once while her father was outside doing yardwork. She saw it as "being wild and rebellious".
