I don't think there is a politician or an elected official in the U.S. that has not at one time or another taken a bribe or done something for someone as a favor for profit or for old times sake.

Well, it's hard to disagree with that sentiment. It seems that only the squeaky-clean Washington politician fails to become a millionaire after several election cycles. This is particularly true for the Dem side of the aisle since few of them have worked in the private sector. Either they are taking money, or their spouses are on their behalf.

Bill Horn? Is that the septagenarian RINO who was redistricted out of his seat in 2002? Bilbray is Jesse Helms next to Horn.

No, no. You're thinking of Steve Horn. I don't know if the two gentlemen are related. I believe Bill Horn is a bit more Conservative.

No to mention what Army he served in, and where.

We really are faced with a Culture of Corruption in the Republican Party of today.

If a man of Cunningham's reputation can be bribed so easily I wonder if the rot in congress is bad enough to make his trangression seem routine.

We really are faced with a Culture of Corruption in the Republican Party of today. Don't forget that the Duke has been allowed to keep his seat even after information surfaced earlier this year of his financial and political improprieties. If the Duke had been a Dem he would have lost his subcommittee seat many moons ago.

Not only is your comment completely stupid, but it's a flat-out lie. Crawl back under your rock, Coward.

You certainly have your Republican Party talking points down pat. Only one sexual reference to President Clinton in a thread having nothing to do with the presidency or with the Clintons -- that performance gives you my Republican Intellectual of the Day Award for November 28, 2005!

How's the right honorable Alcee Hastings (Dem. Fla) doing these days?

And phony war hero Murtha praises terrorists and disses our Marines. Are you proud of that?

I gotta ad:
You and your type are incapable of recognizing just how ridiculous and out of place such comments are in this forum. To many of us, your post glows with a muted chartreuse hue.

Now now, coward, you can't mention corruption on a political forum's thread and then complain when the Impeached Rapist and his Miserable Shrew of a wife vault to the front of the pack.

Give Robert Torricelli, that paragon of Democratic virtue, a friendly wave from me next time you see him, will you?

I see you listed my man Newt.

This was approximately the 72nd accusation made by the 'loyal opposition'!!

Did you know that after a few years of investigation by the IRS, Newt was completely exonerated of ANY of the charges?

It didn't get much 'press'.

I think the time has come to investigate ever single politician. Is it possible for one to be always honest? Cunningham would have been at the top of my list...it's so shameful...to see him cry tonight on TV was painful. And for what...a house...he did it for house. He lost everything...for a house. It defies any kind of logic.

I can't believe that his wife didn't know what was going on.

They gave their daughter a huge birthday party, including a Rolls Royce and expensive jewelry.....all charged to his friend the 'builder'.

They should give him the opportunity to leave on his own accord first, then throw him out if he refuses.

I heard that he is resigning.

The field to succeed him includes ex-Assemblyman Howard Kaloogian, state Senator Bill Morrow, wealthy businessman Alan Uke, and a few others. But with Cunningham's resignation imminent, the field may grow.

Traficant voted for Hastert for House Speaker. 'Nuff said!
