The college where a student shouted 'Remember Chappaquiddick!' as Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., began a speech will not discipline the 20-year-old even though campus police had warned the man of possible consequences of his action.
As WorldNetDaily reported, Paul Trost, a student at Massasoit Community College in Brockton, Mass., was upset by an introduction of Kennedy given by Rep. Stephen Lynch, D-Mass., Tuesday in which the congressman noted how the long-time senator overcame hardship in life on his way to success.
"Lynch said Kennedy had overcome such adversity to get to the place he was, and that's a bunch of bull," Trost said of the introduction, which occurred in the school's student center.
Just as Kennedy began speaking, Trost was walking out of the room when he shouted, "Remember Chappaquiddick!"
"Most of the crowd gasped," Trost said. "Then I walked out of the student center."
The student says a campus police officer went outside and stopped him. He also saw some state troopers go outside, the type who accompany Kennedy around the state to provide security.
Trost says the cop took down his information and told him he would be hearing from school officials about disciplinary action. A spokesman with the campus police verified the incident but stressed that Trost was not arrested.
Dick Cronin, a spokesman for Massasoit Community College, told WND today that Trost is off the hook.
"The college plans absolutely no disciplinary action against Mr. Trost," Cronin said. "It was simply a matter of communication from our campus police to Mr. Trost. The matter is now dropped."
A representative of the United States Justice Foundation offered pro bono legal assistance to Trost had he faced sanctions from the college.
'Can't you forgive him?'
Trost said one of his teachers confronted him after a class Tuesday about the Chappaquiddick issue.
"One of my teachers called me ignorant and told me this was an embarrassment to the school," Trost told WND. "She said to me, 'Can't you forgive him after all these years?' And I said, 'No, he killed somebody.'
"If it had been me or any other person, we'd be in jail," Trost says he told his instructor.
Referring to his two-word shout, Trost said, "I did it because I know about Kennedy's past. I know what happened at Chappaquiddick.
"I wanted to send a message to him that my generation still knows about it. We haven't forgotten about it."
Trost said he was satisfied to know that students on campus were talking about the Chappaquiddick incident later in the day some of whom, in fact, were not familiar with it.
In 1969, Kennedy was driving a car that went off a bridge on Chappaquiddick Island, off the coast of Martha's Vineyard, Mass. His passenger, Mary Jo Kopechne, was killed after the car landed upside down in the water. No autopsy was ever performed to determine her exact cause of death.
At the time, Kennedy claimed he tried several times to swim down to reach Kopechne to no avail. He came under fire for not reporting the incident to authorities until the next morning. In the interim he reportedly made an effort to call a family legal adviser.
Trost, a liberal arts major who has protested the Iraq war, says he's not a right-winger.
"I tend to have what would be considered liberal views," he explained, "but I go with whatever I think is right."
Said Trost: "I don't regret what I did."
Trost's father, Edward, who calls himself a conservative, says he's proud of his son.
"He didn't do it to be obnoxious," Edward Trost said. "He was really offended."

The book was a best seller in the early 1970's and for a time actually had the Kennedy Clan threatening bookstores to keep it off their shelves. It effectively convinced Teddy to put off his 1972 planned presidential run until 1976, which he then again postponed until 1980, when he was again unable to get traction against the limp-wristed Jimmy Carter in the primaries!
Mary Jo didn't DROWN
It's presumed there was an air pocket with up to 2 hours of air in it................... she suffocated while the "swimmer" was hiding, setting up an alibi, suggesting the possibility of saying Mary Jo took the car and was driving herself, and trying to get a subordinate to take the rap.
Kennedy is not just a poor excuse for a human being...he's a vile snake.
That priest looks like he's ready to kill somebody. . . . and not just the photographer, either.
ROTFLMAO....HAAAAAAA...HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA....HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
How do you know ..there was no autopsy... and I have read the entire report.
Would not have surprised me in the least
what i leave on the grave of that fat bloated tub of guts when his time comes will never pass for flowers...
If you, and others, want to be outraged by it, feel free. You'll get no fuel for your fire from me.
Thanks for the info---I must have know about Laura Bush's accident at one time but forgot. This Vlad guy has such transparent motives, he has only succeeded in impaling himself. I can't see him being around FR too much or too much longer.
From the YTedK.com site (IMO, everyone should check out this site). - The failure to perform an autopsy on the body of Mary Jo Kopechne caused a "public clamor", and drew harsh criticism from both prosecutors and the press. Prior to the inquest, a motion to have the body exhumed in order to perform a belated autopsy was challanged by the Kopechne family. The request to exhume the body was successfully blocked by the Kopechne's lawyer Joseph Flanagan, who was hired and paid for by Ted Kennedy.
Now, there could be several reasons for the Kopechne's actions. For instance, if your daughter had died in an accident (I'm willing to believe that it was a drunken accident and not a deliberate attempt at murder, even though another member of the Kennedy clan later stated he could commit murder and get away with it simply because he was a Kennedy) and you thought there was the possibility that she might be pregnant by a married man, would you want her memory to be tarnished in that way? Then there is the "nothing matters but the party" mentality. Think Wellstone, Cindy Sheehan's son or Mrs. King. They took second place to "the party". Last, would be the fear factor. Would they fear for their own lives if not backing Teddy? I tend to put this one in the tin-foil hat category. My guess is that it's the first one. They have already lost a loved one and just want her to be left in peace. However, if anyone can show where the Kopechne's continued to support Kennedy after this, then I will believe the 2nd scenario.
The school must be packed with betas.
Tha'td be awesome. or ask to speak to the senator first, then ask:-p
Thanks for the ping!
Fat Teddy is responsible for the death of that girl.
(That girl would be a senior citizen practically now, but I digress.)
Her family, should not be the ones to decide about things involving murder, or call it it negligent homicide, whatever.
Call me a tin foil hat wearer, but I swear, if that were my daughter on that bridge on that night, asshole Teddy would not be walking the halls of Congress today pontificating about the protection of women and their rights, or anything else.
Oh no.
He said he took a wrong turn and drove his car into eight feet of water. He got of the car, returned to the party and brought two other men to the scene of the accident. When they were unable to rescue the girl, he told the others he would call the police.
He did not. Instead, he returned to his motel, spoke to an employee there, began making telephone calls to associates and went to sleep. All that time Mary Jo Kopechne remained in the car.
Possibly she could have been saved. The captain of the Edgartown, Massachusetts scuba team believes she may have stayed alive in an air pocket for several hours.
The next morning the car and the girls body were found. When Kennedy finally completed an accident report, he didnt even know her name, referring to her simply as Miss Mary ___.
There was a conflict on what time the accident had occurred. A sheriff said he had seen Kennedys car hours after Kennedy said the accident occurred. The senator said he based his estimate on the clock of the rented car he was driving. When it was determined the car didnt have a clock, Kennedy changed his story.

I can't find it right this second, but the the scuba guy, Farrar said that her fingers were griping the seat "like talons."
