I received a FRmail tonight from Freeper kayak regarding a health issue that her doctors have discovered. Some of you, apparently, are already aware of this. I DO have her permission to put this thread up. She will not be on here to respond as she's still working and will be starting treatments.
Anyway, from kayak....Several weeks ago as part of my routine annual physical I had a chest x-ray. When it came back showing some suspicious shadows, the doc ordered a CT scan which also showed the shadows. So last week I had a bronchoscopy and got the results on Monday.
I have lung cancer. The good news is that of the 2 kinds I have the least aggressive kind and it can usually be removed surgically. The bad news is that because of the location of the cancer it can't be gotten to surgically without doing damage to parts I need.
So I'm facing a regimen of chemo and radiation probably. Monday I have an appointment with an oncologist to begin planning how we're going to attack this thing.
Please PLEASE pray for kayak!!!
Dear Lord God, our hearts are heavy tonight with this news from kayak. She is a dear lady who loves you with all of her heart. Thank you for giving her so VERY many prayer warriors, thank you for giving her a WONDERFUL husband who has been nothing but 100% supportive of her.
Lord, I pray for a "Logan Miracle". Lord, please heal her body. Please guide the medical personnel who will be helping her through this. Please give her YOUR peace. Peace that passes all understanding.
In Your Name,
Amen!
Thank you for the update!

Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, heal our friend and thier families this day.
I know I haven't been around much, but, you are in my prayers a lot.
God bless you Kay. So glad you were able to enjoy your children and that you had a great weekend. Prayers continuing for you.
It's always great to have family around, especially when you're feeling better. I offer my prayers for a good week to come.
prayers up!
God bless you.
poppyseed and her family came to visit this past weekend. It was good to see them all again. The newest member of the family is such a good baby -- hardly ever cries and only when hungry or needing a diaper change. The older kids (ages 7 & 8) were their sweet selves and were very helpful, especially with the 2 year old. It was a very good weekend and we praise the Lord for this time together.
How wonderful that you got to spend the weekend with them. You sound like you have a wonderful family, kay..
I keep you in my thoughts and prayers...how are you feeling?
sleuth
Are you feeling well? Any specific prayer needs for you?
I'm feeling pretty good under the circumstances. The combination of brain surgery, steroids, and radiation has left me weak and badly swollen in places. The Jabba the Hut look from my swollen neck is not very flattering. Every time I try to come off the steroids, I get nauseated and yet the meds are probably the main source of the swelling and weakness ... a real Catch 22.
I will put you on our Parish Prayer list for successful chemo!
Please know you are in our thoughts.
God is faithful!
Hear our prayer, O LORD, for your dear child, Kay, and release her from the need for the steroids. In the Name of Jesus, who is the Christ, Amen!
PRAYERS FOR MY DEAR SISTER CHRISTIAN PATRIOT!!
