Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

As for fiscal vs social conservatives, I wouldn’t consider a person conservative unless he was both.

I'll mark you down as not in favor of voting for Bizarro Rudy.

The weather is warming up out here and the sign board zombies are coming out of hibernation.

Change?

All she said was that Reagan was pro-choice before he changed to pro-life.

Which was incorrect.

It may very well have put this over the top for most JR bans resulting from a single thread.

Someone needs to consult a FRhistorian.

And get some more popcorn while you’re up, would you?

But it is fun.

Glad you're having fun. Meanwhile, I'm watching lots of folks who I've respected and liked for a long time get banned.

But don't worry about those long-time Freepers who helped to support President Bush, helped to counter the duplicity of the MSM, and helped to advance a conservative agenda ... we just want to make sure you're getting your jollies.

His base of support is too broad.

His FR base of support was two broads, and they've been banned.

I don’t think Rudy is going to be the candidate, and I hope that Thompson hurries up and enters the race so that we can get the conservative machine behind him. This election is too important to our winning the war against the Radical Islamic nutcases to entrust it to a Democrat.

I am observing, and wondering if I will ever be able to invite people to visit this forum again.
We're already over our RINO quota anyway.

We are NEVER over our RINO quota.

Assuming you mean bag limits?

And eight months out, Rudy leads by a solid margin, in an aggregate of all the polls. That is A FACT.

A fact that couldn't possibly make any conservative happy.

Which, of course, is what this continuing brouhaha is all about.

You and your liberal friends are doing everything in your power to destroy the conservative movement AND the Republican Party.

Fortunately, a large majority of Republicans are too smart for that, and WILL shoot you AND Rooty down before its all over.

“If Rudy were the Dem front runner nearly every single poster on this board would be excoriating him for being and screaming to the skies to expose him for the rank socialist he so obviously is.”

Of course, Rudy is a LIBERAL. He ran on the liberal ticket in 1994. NYC is so far to the left, Bloomberg, is a Republican.

Why are people fooled because he has (R) after his name?

He’s in favor of sanctuary for illegal aliens. In violation of federal law. This was in his 2nd term, when he couldn’t run again. He is not only in favor of abortion, he wants you and me to pay for it.

He’s against crime, and is good on the WOT. Well, big whoop. EVERY Republican candidate has the same position.

Again, why should we nominate Rudy?

OH sorry, I remember now, its because he can WIN. That’s what they said about Ford, Bush I, and Dole.

Nominate Rudy and you can kiss the South and the Midwest goodbye. His nomination would tear the GOP apart and GUARANTEE President Hillary’s election.

Any conservative who supports Rudy is a fool.

don't know what exactly prompted this thread, but most of us here on FR -- especially those of us for whom "conservative" is far more critical than "Republican" -- are behind you 100%.

AC what are you saying? The socialist rudybots claim they are one and the same! ;O)

Rudy is known.

By people who are very politically astute; however, even the most conservative "rank and file" are not aware how liberal he really is. Keep in mind that Rudy has NEVER had to debate a conservative on national issues, and when he does he will only have two choices -- he can either run on his liberal record or lie about it and see it exposed.

If Giuliani is a “social moderate” name a single Republican to his left.

He marched in the same event as NAMBLA.
He would pay to kill his own grandchild.
He hired 6 $100K a year bodyguards to drive his mistress around.
He supports partial birth abortion.
He supports taxpayer funded abortions.
He revoked CC permits for thousands of law abiding citizens.
