Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

Amen. Last year I thought a Hillary presidency was unfathomable...today, it is very likely. We should all be very, very afraid.

Don't be afraid. Republicans are not nearly so divided as the wingnut faction on FR would have you believe. We know what's at stake. We want to win. We will nominate someone more than capable of cleaning her clock.

and the thing is, even if Rudy does not win the nomination - if Hillary wins, the same people here will blame Rudy for “dividing the party” by even being in the race. If Thompson gets the nomination and loses the general, there will be endless posts about how “Rudy caused it”.

I believe Rudy’s dropping poll numbers may well have incited a mass hysteria.

because when I clicked his name, I got that he’d been banned/suspended

Really? Well color me surprised, that's the first I heard of it and you are absolutely right!

Everything I saw posted from him (and I may have missed a few things) seemed solid conservative.

Friendly fire maybe?

“Do we have enough Tombstones to do around”
It would be interesting to see the number and nics that were zotted. I have tangled with some and had pretty good dialogue with some of ‘em. IMHO, it was the near worship of rudy that was a cause of all this. The number of pro rudy posts was puzzling considering the sidebar polls (if so many had supported rudy, he would have done better than 10%)

I just have my .44 special

What kind?

Hubby's .45 is in the shop, it was just a poorly cobbled together 1911 with some serious problems but now it's fixed. He took off the damaged parts and replaced them. Now, it's like cherry. He'll pick it up Tuesday.

Once again, you completely fabricate things to attack me.

Stop proving that you're 'principled' by lying about what I've said.

Enough of this thread.

I have not here, nor have I ever supported Rudy Giuliani. In fact I have said often that I pray that he is NOT the nominee.

You may now feel free to lie about me again. I know how 'principled' you are......

You won't be able to help yourself.

damn straight. Tony Snow is the coolest.

Here, maybe you will like this photo. A group of FReepers gave him the cussin' jar for his radio show.

We kind of hope one of these days he will break it out during the White House Press Conferences.

**This is the most depressing, negative, and destructive thread I have ever seen on FR.**

But looking at the whole issue of Rudy running for President, it is depressing. Voting for him just because he could beat Hillary is not right — and it is causing a lot of sandpaper on glass on FR. I just think Jim wanted to offer a forum for everyone to get it all out on the clothesline.

Hopefully we will have a Thompson Gingrich or Gingrich-Thompson ticket

or Gingrich-Hunter ticket

or Thompson-Tancredo ticket??

Right now it is all in question marks for Republicans. The media has us going for Rudy, but that’s really not where the Republican base is.

I do think that a lot of Republicans are quite worried about Rudy — I’m not, because once the conservative person that we can vote for gets out there — we will see Rudy go down in the polls like a rock thrown into a river and sinking to the bottom.

So, yes, it is depressing. In my way of thinking a lot of prayer is needed to get the right candidate out here to whip Hillary-Obama. We really don’t want our government to become socilist.

Now that’s depressing!!

“like finding that PhiKapMom really DOES appear to be a Rudy campaign operative after all,”
Hmmmm. I thought there were some ringers here, but kind of expected most candidates to try that in a less obvious way. If you hve something actual, I think that Mr. Robinson would like to see it.

What, Duncan Hunter is actually a candidate? How did you know?

:-) See, I think Humor is still OK here. And I make that joke with sadness that it has a ring of truth to it for too many people.

Funny how every single poll done in the last 6 months says exactly the opposite.

Rudy may not be "winning" the FR wingnut caucus, but that really doesn't matter much in the larger contest, does it?

How about against bill richardson?

Richardson was endorsed by the NRA. Giuliani is the poster boy for the brady bunch. Are all those union gun owners going to be fawning over rudy if there’s a pro gun dem running?

What dropping poll numbers? Here is a chart he has been in a sideways trend with McCaine losing ground and Romney gaining traction.
