Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

I found Mia T’s posts to be... intriguing. But I wouldn’t call her a troll. She was pretty single minded and probably drank the rudy koolaid. Someone else posted on this thread a good synopsis of her demise.

These aren’t trolls we’re running into. They’re solid republicans who are convinced that rudy is “conservative” enough. They simply do not buy into the socon viewpoint and it takes a candidate like rudy to bring such things to light.

I posted a couple of months ago that this wasn’t going to be pretty.

I'm waiting for 68grunt to explain why he's even concerned about what my IP is.

Interesting.

OFF TOPIC: Is anyone else having trouble posting? Is the thread too long or something?

No, not tonight. as I said, I only slept 2 hours in the last 40 or so, and about 6 in the past 3 days, (I was up till 3 friday night, and up to 6am saturday night).

I think I’ll go to be early tonight (which means midnight, so I can get a good 7 hours of sleep or so).

I haven’t seen a good claim of “Rudy is great” in a while anyway.

I want a conservative in the White House.

There are different kinds of conservatives. There always have been.

Fiscal Conservatives. Social Conservatives. Paleo-Conservatives. Neo-Conservatives. Foreign Policy Conservatives. and even Libertarians.

Guiliani is a fiscal conservative and a pro-military foreign policy conservative.

Do I agree with him on everything? No.

Is he a hell of a lot better than Clinton, Obama, or anyone else the Dems might nominate? Absolutely.

I’m not having any trouble posting, I am noticing a bit of lag when moving through the thread but with this many posts, it’s not surprising.

Nope. Jim has had good reason to do what he’s doing. Try reading the last Mia T thread and you’ll see why she got banned. Absolutely no “sleeper trolls” involved there.

This is the most depressing, negative, and destructive thread

It's a little depressing reading something like that from a freeper with the name "Eternal Hope". Maybe "AbandonHope".

The Father of CFR?? Then why isn’t his name on the bill?

It was, originally. It was even more radical in its first incarnation, and at that point was called McCain-Feingold-THOMPSON.

And, Fred was THE guy who shepherded the legislation throught the legislative process.

""If McCain-Feingold passes, it will not have happened if it weren't for Fred Thompson." Mark Salter, Chief of Staff to Senator John McCain, March 29, 2001

See my post on the nomination process. Chafee getting the nomination is simply not possible.

Anyone who makes it through our nomination process will have done so by earning the support of a huge number of right-of-center voters.

You might as well ask me if I’d support Bernie Sanders should he switch sides and seek our presidential nomination.
