Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

Waaaay too many people around here are just wishing we had historical amnesia, and thanks for pointing out that what is considered trashing on this thread isn’t trashing at all.

It'll become a raging battleground between RNC (anybody but Hillary) loyalists and third party upstart supporters.

The core conservative goals of this site will remain the same, most likely. The debate over how to accomplish them will rage on in a different context.

Reagan was a liberal? What planet are you from? All he did was fight the hippies and the radicals while governor. He was called “far too conservative” right up until his election as president.

I remember Bob Dornan on “Tempo” screaming at the liberals calling in saying how much they hated “Reegan.” That was 1968. Reagan was no liberal. He ran as a Goldwater conservative against Pat Brown.

He was a man of the right from his days on “Death Valley Days.” You Giulianites always dream about your flawed little liberal as another Reagan. But you have your polarity reversed. You see Reagan as a liberal, and Giuliani as a conservative.

If anything, Reagan moved toward the middle during his presidency. He already had the right flank covered, and we trusted him. He was no liberal, not after 1964.

I seems to remember historical facts of his career is blasphemy. I loved the man as my President, I was not blind to him however.

Last time we had a Clinton in the white house with a democrat house and senate, two years with almost nothing happened and then we had republicans in control of the house and senate.

I think 2010 is much more likely to be a republican landslide if Hillary is president than if Rudy is president.

The guy was trashing the founding fathers and religion thinking it would elevate the immoral abortionist gay agenda supporting liberal Rudy Giuliani. He was arguing exactly like a liberal. I’ve seen them do it over and over again. Trash the founders. Deny their religious backgrounds. Deny that America was founded and settled by Godly men on religious grounds. They want God completely out of the picture. Why?

Is that what you call it -a meltdown?

The way I see it, Jim's simply making conservatives feel welcome again. I was getting pretty tired of a certain group of 'pragmatists', longtime members who apparently thought they owned the place, who spent most of their time pinging each other to certain threads & sneering at social conservatives.

From what I can tell, alot of them are no longer here, and in my humble opinion thats an improvement.

“leftist elements within the GOP that want to turn it into a Democratic-lite party”

“want” or “have”

No, I’m too fascinated watching the meltdown.

Ruh roh, what did Rudy do now?

Say, do you think there is a possibility that Gary Busey had an affair with Donna Hanover?

He was considered a liberal, by any stretch of the imagination, when he was governor.

Complete nonsense.

It certainly was a group effort. And it was great to see a bunch of conservatives working together to help keep yoko giuliani from breaking up the GOP.

Our next task is to get it out to conservative republicans in the outside world.

Woo hoo! Well stated, Mr. Robinson! Thank you for your vision for Free Republic and for your courage to fight the good fight for the unborn, and against the evil men and women that are taking over America! Our forefathers fought against the tyrants, and it looks like we’re going to have to do it too. I’m proud to be on your side! I will NEVER vote for Rudy, or any other liberal/RINO!

The only question is, will those who support Rudy be allowed to post here

It's not surprising that a person who would support Rudy and claim he is conservative would also POST a comment asking if rudy supporters would be allowed to POST.

It's like asking someone to raise their hand if they can't hear you.
