Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?
vanity | April 21, 2007 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/21/2007 6:42:25 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

We've got some real challenges facing us. FR was established to fight against government corruption, overstepping, and abuse and to fight for a return to the limited constitutional government as envisioned and set forth by our founding fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and other founding documents.

One of the biggest cases of government corruption, overstepping and abuse that I know of is its disgraceful headlong slide into a socialist hell. Our founders never intended for abortion to be the law of the land. And they never intended the Supreme Court to be a legislative body. They never intended God or religion to be written out of public life. They never intended government to be used to deny God's existence or for government to be used to force sexual perversions onto our society or into our children's education curriculum. They never intend for government to disarm the people. They never intended for government to set up sanctuary cities for illegals. They never intended government to “rule” over the people and or to take their earnings or private property or to deprive them of their constitutional rights to free speech, free religion, private property, due process, etc. They never intended government to seize the private property of private citizens through draconian asset forfeiture laws or laws allowing government to take private property from lawful owners to give to developers. Or to seize wealth and redistribute it to others. Or to provide government forced health insurance or government forced retirement systems.

All of the above are examples of ever expanding socialism and tyranny brought to us by liberals/liberalism.

FR fights against the liberals/Democrats in all of these areas and always will. Now if liberalism infiltrates into the Republican party and Republicans start promoting all this socialist garbage, do you think that I or FR will suddenly stop fighting against it? Do you think I'm going to bow down and accept abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, global warming, illegal alien lawbreakers, gun control, asset forfeiture, socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism, etc, etc, etc, just so some fancy New York liberal lawyer can become president from the Republican party?

Do you really expect me to do that?

So if we don’t stand for what we believe in, why are we here? Jim Kolbe stood for plenty of controversial issues. He was for gay rights, open borders, political correctness, and abortion. So was his hand picked succesor. To run to the liberal side is still taking stands on these issues.

No offense, but why is something President Reagan said or did in the 1980’s fair game, but something Mayor Giuliani said or did in the 1990’s off limits?

I never said that anything was or wasn't off limits. I am not the posting police. I was merely following up on a post by Spiff last night, stating that President Reagan didn't appoint Giuliani. He did - twice.

“The Rudy people ran through every stop sign and raced right off a cliff. Well now they have their own board. They can worship him all they want, 24 hours a day. I’m happy and thrilled for them.”

They better find some other boards and hedge their bets because Giuliani is going to crash and burn. Mark my word...he is going to be the Gary Hard of Liberal Republicans before this is over. Mark my words!

Could it be because I’m “too conservative?”

Yes.

What really blew me away was seeing Howlin there. While she may be abrasive at times, she's no Rudybot.

I suspect she's really just waiting to give the kiddies a paddling.

I didn’t deny it, disruptor. I am a very poor Christian. You, on the other hand are a deceitful fifth columnist. You pretend to be a conservative in order to divide the base of the right.

It wasn’t a betrayal, it was cutting their losses. AZ8 is a liberal district, it has Tucson the liberal enclaive of AZ. I knew the moment Kolbe announced his retirement the district was going to the Dems, then Giffords announced her candidacy and it was really over. The GOP supported a RINO in the primaries because they figured with him there might be a small chance, IMHO it was money wasted, after the RINO lost the primary they counted the district loss and went elsewhere. Welcome to the sucky side of party politics.

Why? Does the truth make you feel squeamish?

No, but getting pregnant before marriage is sick and sinful. I'm not so sure Ronald Reagan is in heaven after having read that fact.

So after this thread has run its course, are the praise Rudy threads no more?

Goodness I hope so. It’s about time to wake up and realize that it’s the media who’s picking Rudy for us, for the exact reason he’s distasteful to the conservative base.

It’s a pincer move designed to ultimately keep most conservatives home Nov 2008, demoralized and disenchanted, to squeak Clinton or Obama in at the last moment.

Wake the freak up any pro-Rudy stragglers. Don’t let the MSM choose a candidate for you!

What exactly are you telling dmw to swallow? I, for one, am tired of watching you abuse this site, and make nasty comments about FReepers who uphold the mission statement of this site. And you do this at the expense of our host, so you can see your disgusting comments repeated at other sites.

Show some of that courage you pretend to have, and just say what you mean, to the person you’re talking about.

"I’ve stated continually that I intend to vote for DH, unless FDT gets in the race"

Then what's your beef? Why are you behaving so disruptively? If you don't like this thread or topic, why don't you just move on to another one? If you don't like EV, why not just ignore him? Appears some people come looking for trouble and loaded for bear. If so, don't be surprised when your prey fights back.

Howlin and I have argued much through the years and I always considered her to be a social liberal. She and I have smoked a peace pipe over the Thompson candidacy, which has brought us together.

But she defends any attack on the Giuliani love squad. So I am not surprised to see her there. She is one that will be back at home with us when Fred runs.
