Sam Waterston predicts co-star Fred Thompson will run for presidency
Posted on Apr 24, 2007 6:08:37 PM
It is uncertain about whether NBC's "Law & Order" will be renewed. But Sam Waterston told CNN that he expects co-star Fred Thompson to run for president. Wolf Blitzer asked Waterston about the possibility of Thompson's throwing his hat into the presidential ring.
"I think that is going to happen," Waterston said Tuesday.
Waterston described the actors' relationship as "friendly, friendly."
"He's a good man, a very nice man, and he's been very, very straightforward with me all the time," Waterston said of the former Republican senator.

Oh, he'll pull the lever for Hillary when the time comes. Waterston's definitely a lib - I remember him doing ad spots for The Nation magazine.

Sam Waterston:
Seems to be a liberal in the program, but his real political leanings remain a mystery.

"Waterston appeared on "The Situation Room" as an advocate for Unity '08, a movement trying to end polarization in politics. Of Unity '08, Waterston said, "
And our belief is if an independent or a bipartisan executive were in place. That it would make a huge difference to all the politics in Washington and might make possible to get back to the way things used to be in the old days."
I think that leaves the door open a bit.

You only have to look at the election of 1800; Thomas Jefferson vs. John Adams to see some really slimy, underhanded dealings on the part of Jefferson supporters. John Adams never dignified any of the criticisms with a response, so he let them roll right over him. Needless to say, Adams lost.

I am preparing to accept apologies from all of those who so freely lambasted me whenever I mentioned Senator Thompson last year.
Soon, very soon.

Yes, but they also told us that Fred Thompson was considering taking a job on ABC radio doing political analysis, which would stop any campaign for office.

A year ago I didn’t know who he was or what he was about, but now that I have learned what I have, I am definitely leaning Freddy.
No apology from me though because I never lamblasted him.
