This is good news in my opinion. It Fred Thompson cannot stay in, I would much rather see McCain go up against Guiliani on Super Tuesday than Romney.

If McCain wasn’t so much for amnesty, then I would be willing to accept him as president (no matter how many other flaws he has). But he is just so arrogantly out of touch on that issue.

I’m surprised that Ron Paul is not doing better in NH. I would think he would finish 2nd place or at the least 3rd.

I used to say I would vote for *any* Republican presidential nominee. I figured they couldn’t possibly nominate anybody who would be as bad as a modern-day brain-dead liberal Democrat.

I’ve changed my mind. Unless somebody can enlighten me, or I come up with it myself between now and election day, if McCain is “it” for the Republicans, I will vote for all *except* president.

The most recent Wall Street Journal articles have finally convinced me that he is not only a RINO, but likely has a screw loose.

YMMV.

This poll reflects what can be observed in the campaigns. McCain has regained his footing, attracting large crowds and the accompanying media attention. The sober fallout from the Benazir Bhutto assasination completed his gradual rise from the oblivion of the summer. He has the best foreign policy credentials of the GOP field, is a proven Iraq/WOT stalwart, solidly pro-life and has repented of his “amnesty first” immigration views.

I like his seemingly boundless energy and optimism on the campaign trail as well. Best of luck to him in NH and beyond. . .

It may be starting to seep in that at least for the GOP, what the good people of Iowa and New Hampshire have to say means absolutely nothing.

What I think this says is that people are still worried about the security of our country and national defense, despite all the MSM’s propaganda to the contrary.

Hildabeast is wretched, but to most people she probably looks like a likelier defender of the country in a cruel world than those prettyboys Edmunds and Obama. Better a wicked witch with a punch than a couple of effete leftists, is probably what they are thinking.

And McCain is widely called a “war hero,” although people who have looked more closely might dispute that. In other words, these two are floating to the top because nobody trusts Huckabee, Romney, Obama, or Edwards to defend us against threats.

It’s delusional thinking, but the media is managing to cover up the guys who might really defend us: Thompson and Hunter.

The McCain List.

New N.H. poll:
McCain 31%
Romney 25%
Giuliani 14%

McCain leads in N.H. for the first time in months (talk about good timing!).

I won’t vote for McCain if he gets the nomination. I even hope he loses if he gets the nomination. Republicans can do some soul-searching for 4 years under a ‘rat president, and maybe they’ll pull their heads out and nominate someone worthy in 2012.

Haven’t given up on Thompson getting the nomination. Pretty much think it’ll take a miracle for Hunter to win it now, so I’m hoping someone will pick Hunter for V.P.
