A question about the search function.

I was always able to search for the Daily Readings (Catholic Caucus) by only inserting the word “Readings”

Now all I get with the word, readings, is the Jewish readings.

I have only tried it from the religion forum so far.

From the homepage, I can search for readings and have everything come up, but I would be unhappy if I had to go back to the homepage for every search.

I also noticed that from the homepage initial searchm the older search came up. I would also like to search for older threads.

Can I think that this is something that you are working on? Hope so.

Another question.

Will we be able to set a preference to have the initial page after the homepage come up with only the comments rather than just the posted threads?

On all forums?

I’m not usually fond of change but this is good.

Except... They do not highlight like they used to, It is more difficult to see what I have already looked at.

I have a browse by forum column on the main page, it used to highlight what I wanted to look at and then I clicked all and the articles form those threads came up. Now I have to browse ALL the threads, not just the ones I am interested in. And the articles are not highlighted AFTER I look at them.

So far so good. I noticed the change but it was not disturbing and so vast that I had to reorient myself with everything.

In that, you have done an excellent job.

Please know that this is the best functioning forum. Please don’t change its basic format.

And thanks for the many years of enjoyment you have provided.

FReepRegards,
BJN

Mousing over the links in the sidebar changes the text color from blue to a light grey, a little hard to see for me. Maybe it’s just me.

There seem to be a lot more “latest comments” (more lines) aqueezed onto the first page, than previous versions—maybe a little tight? It’s probably just me, also.

Love the blues or blue-greys though....and the ability to change the colors in the sidebar. ***Magenta!!*** I hope that’s new.

It should be there on your news/activism page, and even your pings page on the right, at the top (almost) of the sidebar

I catch up with my FRiends and
others who I know are always up
on the very latest to see the current
topics of my interest when I’ve been
gone for awhile.

I miss so much as it is, ‘cause
I just don’t have time to scroll
through pages and pages of articles.

That will be a big loss for me if
it continues.

Hmmm, the sidebar links don’t change color at all for me.

They used to

They are still clickable though, although the don’t automatically come up in a new window like they used to

I guess the techie guy John is still working on it

It seems to work differently for different members

Click on a posters name, and their FR page comes up

Then click on “in Forum”

Then you have all of their latest posts

Or did you mean how did I hot link it?

Well, all kidding aside, I was wondering if JR will find a way we can subscribe to our favorite posters or else easily recover a way we can find them and what they’re writing. To be honest, I have a few people who regularly read my posts and write to me, have no idea why and not bragging but it’s just something that people do.

How do you find them in the Forum,
when you can’t search for them?

Search by username does not work .. LOL
