The national platform approved at a Democratic Platform Committee meeting in Pittsburgh on Saturday includes language that calls for repealing the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy implemented by Democratic President Bill Clinton and for allowing homosexuals to serve openly in the military.

Under current federal law, homosexual conduct is illegal in the U.S. military.

Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, has said he favors repealing “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and allowing avowed homosexuals in the military.

In Congress this summer, some Democratic members started laying the ground work for such a policy change should Obama be elected...

There’s no way otherwise to realize his program of a domestic security force larger than the military without unwilling conscripts.

I doubt he would have a problem with that. He will recruit minorities to get even with whitey. The purpose of those troops will be to act as goons and terrify the population into silent submission. They would be the new Mao Mao's. Minorities would love it.

Carter cut our military in half and gave away the Panama canal. Clinton cut them in half again and ignored the terrorists buildup around the world. Under Clinton the military could hardly train for lack of ammo and spare parts for planes and vehicles.

Obama will bring intensified and rapid change to America as he irrevocably moves us to a socialists collective with strict government controls of the population. The Communists will have finally succeeded.

I really don’t care if they are gay or not, as long as they can handle a gun.

For that matter, I’d rather have a big butch female rather than a paint my nails kind of girl.

Draft all homosexuals into the military and bar the heterosexuals. That way the homosexuals can screw the enemy to victory instead of shooting them.

“I support all of our troops. “

Do you support more taxes for more military housing?

If Males and Females need separate dorm rooms and barracks,
then we’ll separate housing for Homosexuals and Lesbians.

Soldiers are sleeping 4 to a room overseas. They won’t allow a female with 3 soldiers and there are no rooms left. now what ?

PS:

My DI’s would have become apoplectic at the sight of those sagging, wrinkly, poorly made bunks in the photo I posted!

There won’t be any quarters bouncing off those top sheets.

I was an MTI, and even though the picture shows matress covers, I would not have let a flight go until those matress covers were tight.

There are already homosexuals in the military. What they are calling for is for out-in-the-open homosexuality.

YES, I support fielding the best military in the world - no matter the cost.
Why are they sleeping separated, BTW?

Uh, men with men, women with women.
Or all together.
If you’re a soldier and cannot control yourself, you’re a risk and you don’t belong.
And yes, that goes for all the straight folks too.

and that is about the sum of it. Until Men and Women are comfortable rooming and showering together, open Homosexuals are going to present a huge logistical nightmare. Don't get me started on the Morality nightmare.

When I joined, homosexuality was forbidden.
Then it was tolerated.
I’m glad I retired before it was required.

America, home of the stupid; America, home of the idiots with hands stuck out for free stuff. REAL AMERICANS had better wake up to the utter destruction of this Republic, our moral values, our way of life, our faith in God, and get off their dead asses and move to destroy this bunch in November. But, no, however, America the stupid wants to blame everything on Bush, the republicans (both of whom deserve loads of blame), however the alternative is absolutely unforgivable and destructive. We have to defeat these radical leftists. They must not only be defeated, they must be destroyed once and for all. Fags in my military is NOT going to work. Open gays will find their lives in jeopardy, because the majority of men are not going to share quarters or fox holes with fagots. This has to be stopped. AMERICAN, YOU HAVE LITTLE TIME LEFT. YOU NEED TO WAKE UP AND DEFEAT THESE RADICALS. THEY OPENLY LOVE THAT THE RED CHINANESE ARE DOING WELL IN THE OLYMPICS AND THAT THE SOVIET UNION IS ONCE AGAIN ON THE MARCH. The war between the Soviets and Georgia is nothing more than MCCAIN’S MOVES TO CREATE a war to get votes. They blame it on Bush and on McCain. Wake up people before it is too late.

Top general: Remarks on gays were ‘personal moral views’

http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/03/13/gays.military/index.html

POSTED: 2:36 a.m. EDT, March 14, 2007 WASHINGTON (CNN) — The top U.S. military officer, Gen. Peter Pace, said Tuesday he should have focused more on military policy and less on his own opinion when he told a newspaper homosexual acts are immoral.

His remarks drew opposition from some lawmakers and an advocacy group.

Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told the Chicago Tribune on Monday that he supports the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy banning openly gay people from serving in the U.S. armed forces.

“In expressing my support for the current policy, I also offered some personal opinions about moral conduct,” Pace said in a statement. “I should have focused more on my support of the policy and less on my personal moral views.” (Watch viewers weigh in on Pace’s comments )

Earlier Tuesday, senior staff members for Pace said the general had no plans to apologize for his comments, which included comparisons between homosexuality and adultery — behavior that he said is prosecuted in the military.

“My upbringing is such that I believe that there are certain things, certain types of conduct that are immoral,” Pace told the Tribune. “I believe that military members who sleep with other military members’ wives are immoral in their conduct.”

Pace also told the paper, “I believe that homosexual acts between individuals are immoral, and that we should not condone immoral acts.

“So the ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ [policy] allows an individual to serve the country ... if we know about immoral acts, regardless of committed by who, then we have a responsibility.

“I do not believe that the armed forces are well served by saying through our policies that it’s OK to be immoral in any way, not just with regards to homosexual acts,” the Joint Chiefs chairman said.

“So from that standpoint, saying that gays should serve openly in the military to me says that we, by policy, would be condoning what I believe is immoral activity,” he added.

Elaine Donnelly in her testimony said that not everyone is eligible to serve in the military — period.

Any homosexual is not eligible to give blood to The Red Cross in the states.

What would happen if they can’t give blood immediately on the battlefield to one of their fellow soldiers in need?

Upon a closer look I believe you are corect.
It almost looks as if it they are unassigned bunks or a barracks for transients.

Of course, we all know that the correct nomenclature for mattress cover is F**T Sack.

I believe that picture is a picture of what we called an “open bay” barracks.

Generally speaking, each new flight would walk in to just such a barracks and then marched over to get sheets, pillows & blankets.

We always made sure that before each graduating flight left basic training, the barracks was clean and squared away. No flight of mine would have ever left even mattress covers in such a state.
