Why I'm reversing course on John McCain
Vanity | Sept 9, 2008 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 09/08/2008 12:55:29 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Governor Sarah Palin! Or, actually, what she signifies.

We've often stated on FR that if the Republicans would only run true conservatives then we'd win more elections. We'd keep the White House, build conservative majorities in congress, replace liberal activist judges with original intent constitutionalists, and eventually overturn Roe v Wade and begin rolling back some of the damage inflicted upon our beloved republic by the socialists and liberals.

John McCain's bold choice of the unabashed pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-liberty, small government, strong defense, fiscal conservative, Sarah Palin, signifies a return to conservatism within the Republican Party.

And the fact that Republicans and conservatives of every stripe, including the Christian right are flocking to her side and that the conservative grassroots has been re-energized literally overnight is proof that when offered the choice of truly conservative candidates, conservatives and Republicans will react accordingly.

Even though I've stated in the past that I would not vote for McCain, I will be supporting this ticket. Governor Palin is a God-fearing, kick butt conservative and I'd much rather have her advising and standing in the wings for the presidency than Joe Biden. I'll definitely pull the lever for her. And I'll do all I possibly can to keep the America-hating Marxist Barack Hussein Obama out of the White House.

Do it for Life. Do it for Liberty. Do it for our troops. Do it for America!

I’m still not convinced, but it looks like my vote, or rather the lack of it, won’t matter here in GA.

As opposed to the cabinet that Hussein Obama would pick?

As opposed to a rubber stamp on every liberal idea to cross McCain's mind.

I've changed my mind as well, but I didn't go as far off the farm as you. I'll only pull the lever for the McCain ticket if California is in play, which I don't expect. If the McCain ticket is within 5 points of the Obama ticket according to Rasmussen (the only reliable pollster), I'll hold my nose and vote for Johnny, but only for Sarah's sake.

You parallel my thoughts almost exactly, Jim, I think Sarah Palin just cost Chuck Baldwin and (Barr) millions of votes..of which I was one considering it..but now am enthousiastically ON BOARD McCain/Palin! (BOY THIS ELECTION SEASON HAS PRODUCED STRANGE BEDFELLOWS/LOYALTIES OF MYSELF AT TIMES..).

First it was NO REPUBLICAN (During the Primary, then Tancredo, then Thompson, then Huckabee, then Paul)..then when we knew it was McCain..I WAS ACTUALLY PULLING FOR A CLINTON!)..then I was for Baldwin (C), then I was back on board with McCain (when it was finally known that Hillary C. was defeated..and the 100X bad BHO was the Democratic nominee, though begrudgingly)..and now WOW I AM 100% For Palin..almost feels like Reagan/Thatcher all over again!

Roger that, Jim! Best wishes to you and all of us as we CRUSH Obama, Biden, the dem party and the media this fall! There is so much riding on this election. We must keep the pressure on and the excitement up! Double your vote -- take a friend!

Sarah is the one who has made all this possible; we need to take this opportunity and make the most of it!!

Hey Jim!

Glad to have you back. Hope you're feeling better.

Doesn't MeCain just piss you off by adamantly claiming he'll put liberals in key cabinet positions! ...good grief man!

McCainPalin 2008

PS. Do you think the RNC has learned anything by watching the overwhelming support of Gov. Palin's nomination?

Same here, Jim. I’ll vote gladly for this ticket.
Hey, remember where we all were, a year ago? Grimly anticipating the nominations of Rudy and Hillary? Who thought we’d be this fortunate, to have a young and charismatic conservative on the ticket? I sure didn’t!

Welcome Aboard!

I have met the Governor on several occasions and believe me, she is the real deal!

I'll be proudly pulling the lever for McCain/Palin.

Glad to see you support the ticket Jim. I am lukewarm on McCain as well, but he is fantastic compared to the alternative, and Gov. Palin is one of our future stars...

I hope that they can kick-butt in DC. Herculean task ahead, cleaning out the DC Stables...

Sarah Palin has saved McJuan's bacon -- there's no one who doesn't know that.

I'm still not voting for him. But I am going to vote for her. (unfortunately, in my state, that won't get them very far).
