My firm belief is that the Bush Administration has lost a lot of influence and fallen on “hard times” because of Condi and the administration meddling in the affairs of Israel.

Quix, I, too, share similar perspective. I do wish to add one observation I have made up close with those guys. They would like to have pulled all the strings smoothly for many decades, but we notice they haven't quite gotten it all to work. The law of unintended consequences somehow can and does on occasion gum up their boldest and most carefully developed plans. Just maybe we are seeing some of this.
