As you know, I was an organizer of the LA tea parties in Los Angeles on Feb. 27th and April 15th, and am an organizer of the July 4th tea party in LA. I was contacted by Michael Leahy of TCOT who asked if I was interested in having my name on a letter challenging Obama to meet with us. I said sure. Why not?

The fact is that there will be no meeting, and there never was going to be a meeting.

We knew that Obama wouldn’t meet with us when we sent the letter. The purpose was to show that he is a liar and that when he said he wished the tea party people would meet with him and come up with ideas on how to solve the health care problems and social security problems, he was bluffing. We decided to call his bluff.

Now we have his recorded statement that he wished we would contact him. We accepted his invitation in writing. He will not respond and we can use that in the future.

No one on the list claims that we are speaking for any tea party organizers other than ourselves. We came up with a name for a coalition so that the press would feel that there was a legitimate organization requesting to meet with Obama, at his suggestion. No one in this group is trying to usurp the leadership of the tea party movement, which is truly a grass-roots movement. There is no national leadership group.

Tell everyone not to get their pants in an uproar, we knew nothing would come of it, and we didn’t mean to frighten or offend any of our fellow tea party organizers. This was solely a press play to call his bluff.

By the way, as you know, I am a member of Free Republic, and few people are more conservative than me. That is in response to the people who said that we were all RINOs.

Michael Patrick Leahy is working to convene a constitutional convention. He was asked to leave the grassroots Tea Party movement, and has started another group.

Leahy has stated on his blog that he wants a CONCON.

You need to be open about this, I don't think many Freepers will support the CONCON idea. It is deadly dangerous to our Nation.

to collect information

with which to hurt them as individuals and as a movement.

That’s the ONLY reason I can imagine that he’d bother.

He doesn’t give a flip about public opinion on the matter.

He’s Jr God, in his view. He couldn’t be bothered to “stoop” to those he’s not tall enough to lick the bottoms of their shoes.

Why did Leahy play this off as about social security and healthcare? That is what got everyone’s panties in a bunch as much as anything since this is not and never has been about going along with Obama or anyone else on bigger government — like Nationalized healthcare and at the bottom of the link to this entire thread was a thing to sign a petition for nationalizing healthcare!

You didn't know any such thing unless you can read minds. He could have just a easily taken your acceptance and used it to demean the tea party movement. There was no need to show he is disingenuous. That is common knowledge amongst tea party supporters and freepers. There was no need for a recorded statement as he has explained more than once his position on socialist health care. He could very well in the future change his mind and invite you to serve his purpose at the expense of those who support the tea parties. Grandstanding serves no purpose.

Obama has made a profession of being a liar and along with a number of more recent predecessors in the Oval Office, as well as his buddies in Congress, has honed this skill to a fine art.

A people gets the government it deserves and as long as Americans are willing to elect people who lie to them, they will continue to hold office.

The damage is done. The stamp of 'just another failed republican organizing effort has been placed upon the tea party movement. The million or two who are tea party participants won't be duped by the media's portrayal, but the rest of the world is going to swallow whatever kool-aid comes from the enemedia.

David Axelrod, Rahm Emanuel, Barack O bow ma are not amateur liars, they are skilled liars, practiced in the ways of deceiving the people to manipulate opinions. Axerlrod practically wrote the book on astroturfing. Axelrod has accomplished what he desired, he has marginalized the tea party movement as a bunch of disorganized feckless hacks.

We know that's a lie but the media will gladly feed that lie knowing it's a lie because the media is populated with dead souls sold out to Marxist ideology! We saw the layering of lies during the campaign over issues like the Ayers connections, the obscenity of rev. Wright's hate-whitey filled preaching, and the community organizer mantra. Axelrod uses layering of lies to accomplish what he seeks. Apparently American voters either like being lied to or are too stupid to put two and two together. This started with a lie ('National Tea Party Leadership Team') and now that they have been exposed a new lie is substituted for the starting lie.

BTW, Paul Begala and James Car vile are members at FreeRepublic, too. Mary Matlin revealed they visit conservative sites 'for laughs', no doubt obtained by pulling our conservative chains the way Non Sequitur does all the time.

Thanks for the PING, Spirit! Never doubted you....but I am rather surprised at how many seem to defend the party. Perhaps they have not been involved in the political side or seen how the party leadership has methodically destroyed the ultra-conservatives of the party whom they “set-up” as “mock” candidates. :;shrug:: Takes some people longer, I guess.
