Parents rebelling against Obama speech to schools

Parents across the country are rebelling against plans by President Barack Obama to speak directly to their children through the classrooms of the nation's public schools without their presence, participation and approval.

The plans announced by Obama also have been cited as raising the specter of the Civilian National Security Force, to which he's referred several times since his election campaign began, but never fully explained.

"He's recruiting his civilian army. His 'Hitler' youth brigade," wrote one participant in a forum at Free Republic.

Thanks for the ping and the excellent post.

It amazes me more and more everyday how all of this could be avoided if we just adhered to the principles of the Constitution.

Those "rich old white guys" are getting smarter and smarter from where I am sitting.

His goals concerning kids studying harder, obviously.

Well if that is the only message, then why not simply produce a few PSAs and run them all week long on MTV, Nicolodean, and the Disney Channel? Why the real-time feed, with an accompanying activist lesson plan distributed to teachers by the Department of Education? Seems like an awful lot of needless work and expense for the President to merely say, Stay in school and work hard.

You are obviously a very trusting individual. And, depending on the true intent of this whole exercise, perhaps a dangerously naive one as well.

“HOW OBAMA REVOLUTION CAME TO AMERICA”

http://www.aim.org/aim-report/how-obama-revolution-came-to-america/

“...This requires a confrontation at all levels of society to undermine, weaken, and replace traditional American values in the SCHOOLS, media, family, and unions with Gramsci’s socialist ideals. “To conduct this universalized hegemony,” Boggs writes, “means to transform repressive consciousness into a liberating one that makes socialist politics at a mass level possible—the central focus of any thorough-going cultural revolution...”

If this happens at any school, parents should keep their kids out of school and:

Take them hunting, or target shooting, fishing, long walks in the country.

Then rent the DVD, The Patriot and show it to your kids and discuss it with them.

Thanks. Government schools have become quite accustomed to being given an inch (young children, blank slates) and then getting away with taking a mile (stealing, molding, *changing* the minds). It's what they do, and I think many teachers (esp. the young ones brainwashed from birth) are truly offended and outraged that parents would dare rebel and object. After all, these ego-driven teachers believe that their purpose is to craft the next generation [of slaves to the state].

The earlier the programming of lies the better. Trouble is, one counterexample of truth can upset their wormy apple cart, so they must perpetually strive to fill the kids with garbage to block out and leave no room for truth.

Oh look at the nice man with the uplifting message of hope and change - how obvious it is that we should believe in him.

Ignorant of history (hmm, how convenient) and lacking skills of discernment (again, how convenient), much of the population is going to react badly to change that they have no way of (or no interest in) understanding. "In confusion there is profit."

Ultimately though there are two types of people: those who love lies and those who love truth. Those in the latter group - even if programmed - will eventually snap out of it and flee. The rest will dutifully follow orders. I do not trust the robots.

Not surprising - I’m surprised there are not more videos like this. I would demand that my child not be in that teacher’s class. Then I would be called a racist. Yawn.

On the bright side, those kids looked like they were enduring death by a thousand paper cuts.

Funny, my daughter and I were talking the other day about a movie she just watched about the Holocaust, “The Pianist”. I told her that her great Uncle Joe was one of the brave soldiers who was there at the end...and how he gave my Daddy (his brother) Polaroid pictures of the bodies stacked 10 higher or more.

I then told her that I might be crazy, but I thought that our country was heading in the wrong direction, like Germany back in the day....with the Dictator we have in office now.

As for his broadcast, I have a relatives who are teachers, and will NOT be playing his propaganda for their students.

I just pray that they will not be singled out in some way.

My read of the press release is that this is an optional activity

OPTIONAL?.....

As I've said before, have 4 teachers in my family, and I have a feeling they will be among those accounted for who chose not to air this PROPAGANDA to their students.

His goals concerning kids studying harder, obviously.

Yes, but studying harder in regards to what subject?
What agenda?
Goals of bigger government is 'good for you'?
To become children of the Acorn?
Goals to entrap the populace...to convince the innocent that today's societal welfare safety net can indeed become the future's permanent entitlement hammock?

This president is losing his base, has awakened the silent majority...now it appears his retrenchment strategy is to enlist the children on his side. Sway and manipulate the innocent.

His foot will be in the door...will we be notified of future viacom broadcast?

Seems he retrenched and 'rewrote' what was previously advanced to the public. The talking point lesson plans were certainly a vast concern of contention in our country. Obama knew he lost this round...and did not desire to give his opponents any foothold for opposition.

Most schools in this area stated they would not be advocating the 'lesson plans'...that they would not do any of the exercises. Seemed to satisfy the parents.

Speech seemed harmless enough...possibly directed to the inner city youths, where low attendance, dropouts, lack of effort/achievement, lack of parental involvement is criminally accepted.

In my readings the last few days, I was reminded how the rapid left charged GHW Bush with misappropriation of funds (GAO) with his school address in 1991. The hypocrites, the double standards of that party knows no bounds.

re-wrote? The White House said exactly what it said it was going to say: stay in school. Did you have advance knowledge of a plan to talk about health care? Or did you just read someone guess that he was going to talk about it?
