Silver Bullet: GOP Has Shot At Senate Takeover
IBD's Capital Hill ^ | 3/24/2010 | Sean Higgins

Over at fivethirtyeight.com, poll statistician Nate Silver reports that Republicans’ prospects in the Senate have grown so strong that they have a chance, albeit a slim one, of regaining control of the body.

Democrats now project to hold an average of 54.0 seats (out of their current 59 — Editor) when the Senate convenes in January, 2011, according to our latest forecast, and Republicans 46.0 (compared with their current 41). This reflects a roughly one-seat improvement for Republicans since our previous forecast on March 10th.

Republicans now have about a 10 percent chance of taking an outright majority of Senate seats, according to the model, up slightly from before — and about an 18 percent chance of getting to at least a tie.

If we got just the House - can they defund Obamacare?

Don’t know about that but they are the only ones that can impeach him. Take back the House.

Not just the Senate. Try this on for size. I predict a landslide in state legislatures and governorships. What does that mean?

ELECTION REFORM.

In every state where we gain a majority, we MUST make sure to get legislation through mandating a valid, non-forgeable, ID to vote. We’ll have a golden opportunity to stifle the Dem/Acorn vote fraud machine like never before.

What will we have with a senate full of the likes of Mark Kirk of Illinois?

I’m voting hell no on Kirk.

These sorts of trends are why the Democrats are so feverishly working to discredit and smear conservatives, GOPers and the Tea Party people.

For example, the Black Congressional leaders walked right into an angry protest, hoping that people would yell racial insults and spit on them. When it didn't happen, they made it up and knew that their waterboys in the media would run with the fairy tale. Next time, they'll be sure to put some anonymous good ol' boy SEIU goons in the crowd so they get the great footage they desire. They'll be wearing Tea Party t-shirts too.

They're throwing bricks through Dem office windows. Soon they'll burn one down, along with a couple black churches down south.

They are desperate and their only hope is to convince the idiots out there that only lunatics and racists vote Republican.

They have the 95% of the media on their side, so they'll probably succeed.

They are already planting SEIU goons in crowds. A FReeper (can't remember which) said he saw one at the rally Saturday.

This whole “show” is either orchestrated by Dem agitators or made up. The MSM took the bait Saturday evening, now they're running with it.

This may be counter intuitive and/or over thinking the matter, but I think it would be better to get within one seat in the House, and within one seat of the Senate (while beating Harry Reid in his race) so that pin the tail on the donkey still rests with Obama having control of congress (albeit by a slim margin).

If the GOP takes over by one or two seats, then Obama gets to run AGAINST the GOP with help from the media for 2 full years.

The GOP can block everything with it basically even, and then still be able to bash Obama, Pelosi and Reid’s replacement to get more seats in 2012 and the Presidency.

Of course, it will be what it will be, you can’t cherry pick like that....but still..

Took the bait makes it sound like they don't know exactly what's up.

Maybe dopes like Sheppard Smith are being duped, but most media types know exactly what the Democommunists are up to and are willing soldiers in the war.

To truly overturn Obamacare in 2013, we will need 60 seats in the Senate. We need to get the number in the Senate up as high as possible as quickly as possible before people become dependent on Obamacare and the anger fades.

We do know that they are the village idiot’s who are easily led and don’t investigate anything. That’s why I assume that they took the bait.

Yes, all spending bills originate in the House. The House can defund anything in progress, as well

They means by which the Dems were going to pass this bill means I suspect foul play by November, such that they will hold their power.
