America Is at Risk of Boiling Over
WSJ ^ | 8/6/10 | Peggy Noonan

But do our political leaders have any sense of what people are feeling deep down? They don't act as if they do. I think their detachment from how normal people think is more dangerous and disturbing than it has been in the past. I started noticing in the 1980s, the growing gulf between the country's thought leaders, as they're called—the political and media class, the universities—and those living what for lack of a better word we'll call normal lives on the ground in America. The two groups were agitated by different things, concerned about different things, had different focuses, different world views.

I guess it really is true that whatever doesn’t kill us just makes us stronger.

“The Bushes, the Clintons, and the Obamas all think alike that open borders are good.”

Well, if you believe even a part of the Tri-Lateral Commission/One World Government/Bilderberg Group agenda, it goes along with the steady move toward a North American Union. I’ve long heard and read that every year at least as long as the above administrations have been in power, there is a meeting of the leaders of Mexico, U.S. and Canada toward that end. May sound crazy, but doesn’t it make sense in light of what’s been done (or NOT done) about the borders/illegals steadily by these presidents and powerful legislators?

It troubles me, I fear we’re up against a powerful agenda, but I still believe in the power of the American people IF we stay informed, vocal and active in our opposition. We’ve already slowed many of the things the above groups have been working to implement. The question is, can we stop them?

Okay, gang, that’s my “conspiracy” talk for the night.

“Please excuse a friendly correction. :-) That’s ‘navel’ as in tummy-buton.”

LOL - is tummy-buton like a belly sofa/futon?

Ah, it’s much too late at night :-)

“BUT how can we explain these several primaries where the RINO candidates win over the conservatives. I think these primary results do not bode well for November.”

I know what you mean. As a Missourian, I was proud to be part of the vote that passed Prop C against Obamacare but also chagrined that Roy Blunt so overwhelmingly defeated my choice, Perguson.

Still, we have to look at the big picture. Look at the conservatives that ARE winning, have won in special elections already and also previous primaries against some of the old guard. There are 37 gubernatorial races this year and 435 congressional ones. And look at the established belt-way Dems who dropped out already.

I think, overall, it will be a good outcome.

An email I received today on the subject:

The Enemies of America
by Colonel Bob Pappas, USMC, Retired

Without analyzing the California Federal Judge’s entire decision to overturn that portion of the California Constitution as Unconstitutional that pertains to homosexual marriage, there are instant fallacies in the Judge’s decision. The will of seven million California voters has again been set aside by a homosexual Judge, and of course we all know that his homosexuality had no bearing on his decision!

Twice the will of the people in two separate States has it been overturned in as many weeks. First, a State’s sovereign right to govern and defend itself, as in the case of Arizona’s SB 1080 has been ruled unconstitutional by a Federal Judge; and second, the State of California’s Constitutional Amendment that established “marriage” as being a domestic contract between one man and one woman has been ruled unconstitutional by a Judge who arguably should not have heard the case in the first place.

In the first instance the Judge used the “Supremacy” clause to rule that immigration is the purview of the Federal Government; and in fact Federal Law prohibits illegal entry into the United States but the Federal Government has failed in its responsibility to police the border against illegal immigration for decades. In the second instance, if the Judge had integrity he would have recused himself for evident conflict of interest given that the Judge is an openly practicing homosexual.

In both instances Judges overruled the will of the people, that will having been manifest by a significant margin in both instances.

What we are observing in the United States are intentional attacks and destruction of basic moral fiber that underpins the U.S. Constitution and all other law. If one assumes that homosexuals have the right to marry and the lower court decision is sustained by the Supreme Court, then combine that with Obama’s and fellow traveling Democrats’ efforts to strike down “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” which prohibits homosexuals from serving openly in the Military, and the nation will have sanctioned not only homosexuals serving openly, but being “married” and serving openly in the military services. Should that happen it would signal the final stages of collapse of the United States as a viable country.

The current state of affairs began relatively small and conservatives did nothing; attacks grew and conservatives were tolerant if not embracing of “social change;” then came prohibition of prayer in classrooms and conservatives complained but did nothing substantive; then came the ‘60s and conservatives allowed the colleges and universities to be overrun with liberals and socialists; enter the ‘70s and conservatives watched while homosexuality was redefined from a social and mental disorder to alternate lifestyle and with the advent of pervert-in-chief, Bill Clinton, homosexuality was mainstreamed and went from being eschewed to being a tolerated, if not nurtured way of life; the final specious argument in support of their lifestyle being that it is a genetic condition, albeit there is not one scintilla of evidence to support the argument.

Am I opposed to homosexual conduct? Yes, I’m opposed, because with it comes their agenda and the continuing destruction of the greatest nation on earth; and, Obama supports that agenda for its destructive power as a component part of his effort to “completely change America.”

Did God long tolerate Sodom and Gomorrah? Are American Christians and other social conservatives, who incidentally constitute far and away the majority of the U.S. population so lethargic that they stand idly by and watch it happen? Many ask, “What can I do?” Call your Senators and Representatives, tell others and VOTE!

One may not care who appointed who as a Judge, but suffice it to say that conservatives/Christians have done a poor job of standing up and being counted. Too often they cave in to not wanting to be accused of intolerance, or don’t believe that anything will happen. If anyone is paying attention, there is plenty happening and it’s time to wake up!

At this point in the nation’s history, if conservatives want this nation to survive in any recognizable form, it’s time to get a backbone and a voice because the attack continues full force. Obama’s ongoing attack is his nomination and possible confirmation of a likely homosexual as a Supreme Court Justice, Elena Kagen. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to come to the conclusion that Kagen is one whether or not she is open about it. It’s bad enough that she is a socialist of the Obama variety, but that she is afflicted with a decidedly different view of sex, and whether stated or not, marriage; and that constitutes another attack on the nation’s moral fiber.

Democrats in the Congress and Obama have revealed themselves for what they are, enemies of the majority of Americans; so obvious in their imposition of taxes and laws that go strongly against Americans’ wishes.

If America is to survive, it’s time to take it back by electing genuine conservatives as Representatives and Senators, then watch them like a hawk!

The only thing that accurately describes a people "Boiling Over" is a revolution, and Noonan seems every tepid to that idea.

If they people are not at the "boiling point" yet, they may soon well be.

- Seven million California voters had their will ripped to shreds by a homosexual judge, who basically called God given marriage between men and women "homophobia" and "discrimination"

- A Clinton appointee judge swoops in at the last minute and stop Arizona from enforcing very modest immigration enforcement, under the premise that is the Federal government role to do that, even if the Feds refuse to do what their own laws say

- 9 Whites are murdered by a black employee this week who was caught red handed on video stealing beer. His girlfriend accuses his former employer of racism (and some outlandish story about mini-nooses constructed in bathrooms), and suddenly the murderer is now the victim, and those 9 dead people (who are not even in the grave yet) are racists

- Our debt and spending is so out of control, our nation could literally die overnight. Die, as in, collapse. See the logarithmic chart? It only goes to 2007. Take that 9 Trillion last data point, and project it to $13 Trillion for 2010. Get the picture?

This nation can "boil over", but not how Noonan sees it - with a minor political shift at the edges. No. A real "boiling over" will be much, much, much worse.

An irony here is that if we stopped the illegal flow and removed the sense of emergency it generates, comprehensive reform would, in time, follow. Because we're not going to send the estimated 10 million to 15 million illegals already here back. We're not going to put sobbing children on a million buses. That would not be in our nature

Peggy,honey....Why don't YOU take these 15 million and put them up in your New York condo? Huh?

Only a ruling elite wa'nabe ( such as yourself) would suggest that we keep 15 million illegals here. Peggy, in some parts of the nation, honey, UNEMPLOYMENT IS NEARLY 20%!!!!!!!!!

Peggy, you are right about one thing though is this essay. There is a BIG divide between you and me. I think you are a idiot. When secession happens, PLEASE STAY IN NEW YOUR with your ruling elite friends.

They haven’t left Him, and He never leaves anyone.

I disagree that the Lord never leaves anyone. Do the names Sodom and Gomorrah ring a bell? When a peoples becomes such an abomination to the Lord, he WILL pour out his judgment on them. Unfortunately, we (the USA) are close to being on the receiving end of God's wrath. It will take a fundamental sea change in moral temperament on a national scale for us to avoid the chastisement of His divine wisdom.

Think it is becoming clear that most Americans aren’t nearly as godless as the “Ruling Class.”

Nah, the Americans are at fault for perpetually electing the godless "Ruling Class" who pass the laws as well as consenting to the Judicial courtships by of course, perpetually voting for Reps. that bring home "the bacon."

My semantics were a bit off here. Should have said “God NEVER leaves anyone who hasn’t left him first.” When I say this, people often bring up Job. Well, in the end, God didn’t leave Job, either.

Our humble correspondent Miz Noonan thinks the real problem is that our political leaders don't have "...any sense of what people are feeling deep down".

Perhaps they do, perhaps they don't.

The real problem is that they don't care.

They think we are weakened, and that this is the ideal time for the final push over the top to drive us into a third-world, socialist, despotic dunghole.

Consider the following list:

1. Poverty, socialism and tyranny.
2. Much bloodshed.

Our future contains at least one element on that list, possibly both.

“Will we see more racists killing of “crackers” ie white people thanks to obama’s and holder’s racist attitudes? Probably. BTW, conservative blacks are at least as much in the racists’ cross hairs as whites. Watch your backs and theirs.”
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Yes, it takes great courage to be a conservative black person today and we should all try to watch the backs of any black person who refuses to join the lefty parade.
