Vanity: Fox News Panelist Liz Trotta Agrees With Karl Rove: Palin's Alaska Is Unpresidential

Posted on 11/13/2010 12:38:19 PM PST by Retired Intelligence Officer

I was appalled at Liz Trotta and 3 other conservative guest panelist (that I couldn't name) on this afternoons Fox newswatch hosted by Jon Scott all agreed that Palins new reality show, Sarah Palin's Alaska on the Discovery Channel was very unpresidential and it would sink her any chances for the White House.

The topic was that liberal advocacy groups were asking for the Discovery Channel to pull the plug on it. The consevative commentator Liz Trotta then said that she agreed with Karl Rove that this was a bad move for Palin. Trotta then goes on to take a pop shot at Palin saying "everytime this woman opens her mouth that her numbers go down". She then said "the more she speaks that she makes people simply not like her". Jon Scott did not ask Trotta why this was just like yesterday when Megyn Kelly didn't ask Meghan McCain why she thought Palin would be best as a reality star.

My question is why is Fox news who hired Sarah Palin allowing conservative guest freely without explanation to back up their facts to trash her and her message in a public forum? Why are they allowing people to tarnish her reputation as well as her new TV program which they advertize during commercial time? Something smells

I don’t believe that for a second. If Rove detects a whiff of a candidate being off the establishment reservation leash he would knife them in the back to fast it would make jack the ripper look like he only knew how to use a bent butter knife.

Hosting a TV show would kill anyone's chances of being president:

Have you noticed something though. Sarah has never mentioned that she’s running for president and has clearly stated it’s not something she spends her waking hours thinking about.

If they have listened to the promos on the Alaska show she says something to the effect that ... she’d rather be out in the open spaces rather than cooped up in some office.....

To me that indicates she knows what her and her families preferences are and she doesn’t intend to seek the confinement of the offices in D.C. But as you say some critics can’t leave the subject alone.

As a kid I watched Ronaldus Magnus as he hosted a very low budget TV weekly show, “Death Valley Days” not even in color. He would have been so excited to host a series in HD color featuring the grandeur of Alaska, given the parched, desert scenery and its resident twenty-mule team Borax mine wagon he endured as his backdrop. RR’s critics said the same things Palinophobes say today.

If Sarah is sacrificing her “gravitas” and, thus, a real chance at the WH, the Palinophobes should be glad about it.

Sarah retains political power whether she runs for Pres. or not. She loves her Alaska home state and has a fantastic life there. Meanwhile, she can somewhat control U.S. political race outcomes from her home.

Actually, corrupt Washington, D.C. doesn’t deserve Sarah anyway. I would be beyond thrilled if she were our next President, but the MSM/Democrat Pary/Rinos would smear her intensely if she runs. Would hate that for her and her family.

Why do you not want her as President ? Thats pathetic

Let me guess, the media has ruined her image among independents. HERES A NEWS FLASH..the media will do that to ANY candidate we select.

we are going to get her the nomination by running over people like you in the next 18 months. you are no conservative nor are your friends.

it would sink her any chances for the White House.

Finally!

I knew SOMETHING she'd do would sink her.

I just didn't realize it would be something so benign.

Liz Trotta is a card-carrying mush-headed memeber of the NYC chapter of the Lamestream Media. Nobody cares about what she says.

I think Palin might be doing this show partly to firm-up a possible presidential bid, and there's nothing wrong with that. There is, in fact, no way that the show could NOT have presidential implications, because Palin is a potential candidate and everything she does reflects on that.

And I certainly don't see it as a mistake, or as "unpresidential." We are supposed to have citizen presidents, not philosopher kings or grand panjandrums.

`Enlightened’ conservative William Kristol: a `red diaper baby’ and his employee, Christopher Hitchens—a former Marxist. Rove & Co., Fred Barnes, Frum, and all the other media sweethearts and `moderates’ like Graham, McCain, Romney & their ilk ... they can point the way but we’ll point the remotes and push the buttons in the polling booths.
With friends like this, conservatives don’t need enemies. Phooie on `em, phooie on all of `em!

Kimmers said: "As I have said before we need someone that will appeal to the fence sitters to win and she does not appeal to them."

And she won't appeal to them until people like you and Rove stop attacking her and start supporting her stand on the issues.

The media gave us McCain last time and he was a disaster because the man has no principles. I expect the media to give us Romney next time. What principle of limited government did he apply when he signed Romneycare?
