Vanity: Fox News Panelist Liz Trotta Agrees With Karl Rove: Palin's Alaska Is Unpresidential

Posted on 11/13/2010 12:38:19 PM PST by Retired Intelligence Officer

I was appalled at Liz Trotta and 3 other conservative guest panelist (that I couldn't name) on this afternoons Fox newswatch hosted by Jon Scott all agreed that Palins new reality show, Sarah Palin's Alaska on the Discovery Channel was very unpresidential and it would sink her any chances for the White House.

The topic was that liberal advocacy groups were asking for the Discovery Channel to pull the plug on it. The consevative commentator Liz Trotta then said that she agreed with Karl Rove that this was a bad move for Palin. Trotta then goes on to take a pop shot at Palin saying "everytime this woman opens her mouth that her numbers go down". She then said "the more she speaks that she makes people simply not like her". Jon Scott did not ask Trotta why this was just like yesterday when Megyn Kelly didn't ask Meghan McCain why she thought Palin would be best as a reality star.

My question is why is Fox news who hired Sarah Palin allowing conservative guest freely without explanation to back up their facts to trash her and her message in a public forum? Why are they allowing people to tarnish her reputation as well as her new TV program which they advertize during commercial time? Something smells

What is it that makes her not qualified. Is it based on her record at policy making in Alaska? Have you seen it? She has more executive experience that Obama so I will have to ask what you base your assertation on.

we expect our politicans to vote on principal and not on polls. Can we, the voters do the same as well? Will we let the polls to drive who we should vote for? If she lose she lose. It doesn’t stop us from supporting her. At the very least, we keep the rinos out

Bedtime for Bonzo?

Sarah Palin is not on a public payroll, running for office or preaching hate from a Church pulpit. She is a private citizen - who has the energy, dedication and courage to take a stand, speak out and earn an honest living while raising a family.

If anyone thinks her Alaska TV documentary is without risk, not physically challenging and/or mentally/logistically exhausting - they don’t know the TV industry.

I like Palin. She is the only person right to tackle the MSM & certainly she would be better than the current one. Having said that, ANY candidate has to have the “establishment” support if that ‘s what it is called. Without Party establishment support, NO candidate can win the election. Winning nomination is one thing & election is another.

That Liz Trotta is ALWAYS vile and condescending towards Palin. A real snob, perfectly representing the elitist GOP establishment. I’ve grown to thoroughly despise these people.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write such a well written and accurate account of the Fox News Watch segment that I just viewed, with utter disgust.

Sanctimonious and very smug Judith Miller’s remarks are never welcome, -— she is tremendously jealous of Sarah Palin and always lets it show. Ellis Henison is just plain stupid and predictably libTard, so whatever he babbles is meaningless.

Jim Pinkerton didn’t add anything in defense of Sarah Palin either, but Liz Trotta’s remarks might as well come from The Rover himself.

These people are really coming out of the “shadows”, aren’t they?

I am going to send an email to the show because I thought the segment was *that* disgusting. John/Jon Scott did not do his job unless his job entails allowing the panel to knock Sarah Palin.

I like what she stands for in general. However, she’s a baggage queen and we need to get over this nonsense.

Why do you not want her as President ? Thats pathetic

Because she's not ready for the big time, son.

Having already seen how well "hope" works as a means of governance, I would prefer our next president to have been in high office for more than two years. You know, just so that they actually have a clue before the OJT starts.

Oh, wait -- are we talking about Palin or Obama?

Well if Sarah is running she has just done what no one else was able to do....get paid to do eight one hour installments of national TV exposure. Rove is just ticked off that A-He didn’t think of it first. B-That no networks would likely bite on his boring old candidate clients if he tried to pitch such an idea. Could you imagine watching Romney for an hour?

Well said.

Talking heads make noise just to hear the sound of their own boice.

Bush rides a bike in shorts and a crash helmet.

Bush runs a chain saw.

Reagan chopped wood and ran his chain saw.

But Palin can’t enjoy the outdoors and admit to how much she loves it?

Frankly, I would vote for her with enthusiasm, but at the same time I wrote her once telling her that she has the life of a Princess and that I hope she does not give it up for the concrete jungle of DC and the loss of her freedom.

It is feasible for anyone to have an opinion other than the one you want to hear . And if so what the hell difference does it make.

To get upset when someone on TV (who is paid to say somethin)g says what you dont want to hear seems silly . Paying people to say things on TV usually means you will find a variety of people saying a variety of things.

would you prefer that everyone on Fox says Palin is wonderful and thats it?

full disclosure ...I will vote for Palin if she gets the nomination ...I also am happy that Palin is able to galvanize a lot of support outside of simply running for office.

I think Rush Limbaugh is doing a world of good as a radio guy
I do not think he would get elected .

I think the same about O’Donnell ....maybe she would do the most good talking on TV or raising money or any number of things. If it is hard to get elected then do something else.

If one wants to try to get elected having a show on TV may or may not be a good idea .

Only time will tell

We already lost you. You have settled for more government to get the fence sitters on board. Instead we should try to get the fence sitters to believe in limited government, not try to change our position to suit the fence sitter

The way Rove and the critics talk about Palin’s show as “unpresidential”, you’d think she was doing a strip act, not a travel/outdoors show.

A dishwasher at Wendy’s is more experienced than hussein. That’s not a campaign slogan though. I prefer she go away now and stop this crap. She’s dragging the conservative cause down with this media frenzy garbage.

Follow the money trail from the mid-east and Soros...

You will be shocked.

Geithner, Bernanke, Bush’s, Obama, Kerry, Dole, McCain, Rove, Clinton’s, Gore, etc...they are all part of the same globalist cabal.

They are all working together to establish a global government at the expense of the idea of America and the exceptionalism that it demonstrates.

Indeed . It is comical . Lay out the Palin cheese and the rats come running . A bunch of gas bag hacks . Palin is a wonder . You have to laugh at these old bags that hate palin . A woman who has built a life , changed a political party and made tons of cash in the process . And then you have the pundits .

Actually, Rove has a short memory. I remember, DURING his presidency, Bush invited reporters down to the ranch to show them around, to give them a tour, to talk about his love for the place. Kinda like what Palin’s doing, only on a smaller scale. After all, there’s a lot more to see in Alaska than there is in Crawford.

theres alot of cowardly ppl on our side. All we have to do is write forum post and vote. Palin is doing all the hard work, yet some ppl can’t even do the little stuff. They get demoralized by the media and polls
