On tonight's Geraldo Rivera show, he had on a couple of people purporting that 9/11 was an inside job because 'Fire Can't Melt Steel'. At least one was from 9/11 families (I do not know if it was one of the handful of anti-war 9/11 famil;ies or not).

I was really fascinated when he opened Al Capone’s safe. All that money, all those bonds and the whiskey, it had to be worth a bloody fortune as old as it was....oh, wait a minute...
“OK, let me be simpler. Do you believe that AlQuaeda terrorists flying airplanes into the two towers caused the destruction of the WTC? If not, do you believe that our government cooperated in the destruction?”
Here’s what I believe:
1. Two aircraft attacked WTC 1 and WTC 2.
2. Neither building collapsed by impact or fire alone.
3. The government continues to bolster an “official story” wrought with lies, scientific nonsense, failed models, and questionable theories.
4. The government can not and SHOULD NOT be trusted, ever.
I don’t care if the government “aided” in any of the attacks. I don’t care if Al Qaeda were involved. What I care about is that the government blatently lied about many things and continue to do so, all the while continues to strip away our freedoms because they want to “protect us from bad people”.
I’m not going to let any terrorists get in the way of my pursuit of happiness because the “government” wants to protect this “pie in the sky official story” they keep shoveling onto the American public.
You can certainly accept it but I will not. They have done nothing but attempt to belittle, ignore, and block valid scientific questions.

After all, large buildings are constantly collapsing due to fire all around the world. There have been countless other buildings that fell due to raging fires many years prior to 2001. Correct? By all means go ahead. Name them all. You can do it. I have confidence in your engineering prowess!!!
I've known her for twenty years. I knew she was in that business and working in that immediate area before 9-11. Other than that, I don't have a thing. Why should I? I only reported what she told me.

How many of those other buildings suffered a kinetic impact of a couple hundred tons traveling a two hundred+ miles per hour prior to the fire? I seriously doubt that any building has been designed to withstand that force.
While I believe the government was complicit by virtue of having the intelligence information and failing to act on it, I do not believe in any of these silly nano-thermite/inside job conspiracy theories.

Actually, it is well within the time of free fall. The towers were 1368 feet tall. A rock dropped from 1368 feet would hit ground in a little over 9 seconds.
