The death numbers will be rising for the next couple weeks from all over. Prayers.

I would say someone from Canada is woefully ignorant of earthquakes.

Sorry for asking what may be a dumb question, but is the devastation we see in these photos and videos mostly the result of the earthquake itself, or the tsunami that followed?

I watched dozens of videos (mostly cellphone captures) late last night, and DURING the earthquake, buildings shook and swayed, BUT in all of it, NOT ONE PIECE OF GLASS OR METAL fell off those buildings.

When the Tsunami rolled in, very few buildings were left standing.

Could a land mass that large simply break apart and completely sink?

Atlantis comes to mind. Stories have it that it was suddenly covered with water and sunk in one day's time. That sounds just like what's happening in Japan.

There was a train missing yesterday with 100 people that they later found and if I recall, the people on that one were ok.

And if you wait until the end you will see that appears to be a massive covering of an area by the Tsunami turns out to be an encroachment of about a mile by a mile along a lowland. Not saying some people didn’t find themselves in the middle of it, but the city was very vacant of citizens already.

The furthest the Tsunami encroached was 6 miles and that is in the lowlands. You do know 99.9% of Japan was NOT flooded or damaged, right?

Atlantis was a fairy tale. Now this site is reduced to members posting about fairy tales and talking about how Japan could sink in a day?

My GOD..

Police said they found 200 to 300 bodies washed up on nearby beaches, but authorities were still assessing the extent of the devastation in the city and along the nearby coast.

They are still assessing the situation.

Sheesh

The fact that ONE poster MENTIONED Atlantis does not "reduce" this site to anything.

Please be careful what you are implying about FR. It's a great site with millions of hits, and thousands and thousands of readers and posters.

A casual reference to Atlantis clearly doesn't "reduce" it.

Some people CHOSE to not leave, and then they had the gall to Blame the Bush administration for their woes and for not getting them aid fast enough.

I will NEVER forget that *itch on the bridge who practically threw the water bottle back at the FOX crew (?) and hollered at them because it wasn't iced down enough.

Yes, they're worried that Guam might capsize...

Cheers!

You know this for certain? Well, well, thanks for clearing that one up. We can mark it off the books. I’ll alert the media.

So all the people just sat on their lawns waiting for the Tsunami?

Bonus question--Do you think they had time to pull out their lawn chairs while sipping green tea?

Bucky, you are approaching zot material faster than a tsunami travels.

I have seen pictures like this one you have posted and have to say the same... How can anyone survive something this big. The video of that wall of water engulfing the land and washing away everything, is one I will never forget. People laugh at me when I say welcome to the end times.... The Mayans were right. 2012

Evey site has its resident moron troll. You matter how many times you refute them, they just dig themselves into bigger holes.

I knew it had to be like this. Who could watch any of those videos with hundreds of cars swept along and think everyone got out safely?

BTW, I watched a bunch of youtube videos and am amazed at the stupidity of comments underneath. Youtube should disable the comments. They reach a new height of callous hatred and total stupidity.

The anti Christian police are out there, along with every obscenity in the book.
