SOCIAL ISSUES FADE AS REPUBLICANS COURT CONSERVATIVES ZOT!
Reuters ^ | 6/3/11 | Steve Holland

Christian conservatives looking to put a Republican in the White House heard a lot about the economy on Friday in a sign that their social issues may take a back seat in 2012.

Many political speakers at the Faith and Freedom Coalition, including Republican White House hopefuls, emphasized jobs, debt and deficits...

In contrast to some previous presidential campaigns, social issues like gay marriage and abortion have not been prominent topics for Republicans hopefuls seeking to replace President Barack Obama in next year's election.

The weakness of the economy has triggered a debate within the Republican Party about whether conservatives should call a "truce" on social questions.

The idea is that Republicans would have a better chance at victory in 2012 if they rally around economic issues....

Re-instate the original interpretation of the Constitution...or perish. Of course that won’t happen, so prepare for the coming collapse.

It's The Economy, Stupid.

No, it's not JUST the economy, the overall most important issue is "It's the Constitution Stupid!"

The economy and the other issues are subordinate to reclaiming the Constitution and the Republic. If we get back onto the right Constitutional path the other issues will follow.

It's always the economy, stupid ~ and it's still immoral to kill babies just to save them the pain of long term unemployment.

The SOCIAL CONSERVATIVES do not disagree with the jobs and financial issues. The ANTISOCIAL crowd do.

Frankly, we can't let the Libertarian faction take over the Republican party.

Social issues *always” take a back seat; social and Christian conservatives are always taken for granted by the GOP.

I agree.

Social Conservatism works very well with a smaller, cheaper government. Less intrusion, less federal power, less spending.

Let the states be either moral or immoral. We will see who benefits. But the one-size-fits-all Liberal morality of Big Government needs to end.

When looking at the big picture, I don’t think social issues are that important to governments.

"Frankly, we can't let the Libertarian faction take over the Republican party."

The libertarians don't really even care if the US does well. All they care is that global business survives. If that means devaluing the dollar and allowing illegal aliens in to lower wages and regulation compliance then so be it.

There are good constitutional and conservative ways to kick start the economy, and there are short-sighted infantile libertarian ways to support global corporate profits over US economic success.

Bingo.
We need to be prepared for more of the same and try to hang together to avoid hanging separately.

Translation:

Vote for ROMNEY! Liberalism is the only way we can win!

No thanks, If we’re going to go liberal I’ll just stay home on election day, I will not eschew my principles and vote for any liberal just because they have a (R) by their name.. Conservative or nothing.

There is zero reason for Christian conservatives to compromise in this cycle, so moral compromise is off the table.

I live in north Texas. In this area even many churches that were small and struggling before are having to have building programs now.

A reduced circumstance results in time for introspection, which often brings people to God. For those focused on eternity, hard times in the temporal realm help lead others to eternal salvation.

The dose the US is getting has birthed the tea party movement, and the longer the socialists carry out their job and freedom destroying agenda the more people they will lose forever.

Communism, when it gets to this point always has to consolidate its gains in bloody purges of it enemies or be set back generations. Much of the Christian right would rather fight a civil war as the founding fathers did than compromise.

Without a moral foundation spending can not be reigned in any way.
