As a way to solve the national debt crisis, North Carolina Democratic Gov. Beverly Perdue recommends suspending Congressional elections for the next couple of years.
“I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won’t hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover,” Perdue said at a rotary club event in Cary, North Carolina, according to the Raleigh News and Observer. “I really hope that someone can agree with me on that.”
Perdue said she thinks that temporarily halting elections would allow members of Congress to focus on the economy. “You have to have more ability from Congress, I think, to work together and to get over the partisan bickering and focus on fixing things,” Perdue said.
North Carolina Republicans immediately scoffed at Perdue’s proposal, pointing out to her that elections hold politicians accountable for their actions. “Now is a time when politicians need to be held accountable more than ever,” North Carolina GOP spokesman Rob Lockwood said in an email to The Daily Caller. “To suspend an election would be removing the surest mechanism that citizens have to hold politicians accountable: The right to vote.”
She’s just dumber than dirt.
This event is even more insidious when viewed in the light of the executive order that Perdue signed back in (I believe) 2010, that reportedly prevents civilians from legally transporting firearms away from their own premises if a state of emergency is declared (such as has been done for hurricanes Earl and Irene and possibly in other circumstances).
Perdue has claimed that it does no such thing, however people who have examined the applicable wording state that Perdue’s claims are simply false.
Perdue and her enablers have used and will continue to use ridicule to counter anyone who raises concerns about her actions and her plans. However mudding the water and using ridicule in an attempt to stifle her opposition does not negate the executive order, rather it is a classic technique employed by leftists to avoid being held accountable for their own actions.
You don’t have to believe in conspiracy theories to understand what they have done and what they are trying to do, rather all that you need to do is pay attention to the details.

There’s not a lib in or out of power who wouldn’t want this when a DemonRat has the presidency and at least the House or Senate majority. I’m sure they were staying up all night trying to figure this out when they had Zero and both houses of Congress. What they really want is an apartheid govt. where the religious, the business owners, and political conservatives are treated exactly like the Jews in nazi Germany.
What the liberal on the street doesn’t understand is that, the day this happens, they’ll be considered livestock, too, and the death squad is just around the corner for their family.
The liberals think that they’ll suddenly be somebody, get invited to cocktail parties at the White House, and be showered with the money stolen from the jailed undesirables. Many many loyal nazis and their families wound up in the death camps for “crimes” as petty as a single family member failing to give the nazi salute.

I’m ever so glad I moved to SC last September. NC was in the running. But only if my career soldier son would retire in the Fayetteville area (Ft Bragg). Not likely.
It’s time to clean out a lot of statehouses. I’m betting the next election will make Nov. 2010 look like a rough first-rehearsal.
